  1. Thanks!... Im happy as a pig in slop! I got that spray, it was a sight to see (ive always had a wasp phobia).... Used an old license plate to swat my way in the door, then emptied the bottle in the air like i was on call of duty!.... Also sprayed heavily around all the windows (thats where they like to hang out), the residue is still killing them every time they land....... Idk if u can see in the video, but theres several dead between the window and the screen, im just too creeped out to open it Other than that, its a great place to hang out!
  2. Not really... But better (spray helped)... On a warm day ill see one or two buzzing around... Better than 20 or 30! I fear a war coming when the weather warms up, but i will be ready!
  3. Finally got the new shop set up! I built an add on bench for my Christmas present (band saw) with a spot underneath for the shop vac.. Made a custom rod rack in the corner.. And put in a doggy door to share the space with my bird dog and her 3 mutt puppies (puppies 2 years ago) Still some organizing to do and a few more tools to buy..... But its a VAST improvement over the laundry room in our old house!!! Here's a short video tour
  4. I use Lureworks plastic and i have no complaints But i would suggest buying a smaller quantity unless you do ALOT of pouring!... The hardener will separate over time and its easier to keep smaller bottles mixed (shaking).... One gallon will make more than enough baits for personal use (my first gallon lasted me a year)
  5. I dont use hardener verry often, but i learned quick if you add too much the plastic will burn easily You can do a search on brand of plastic and see its an ongoing arguement.. Everyone has their opinion and thats all it boils down to
  6. If you know the bait will perform the way you want, just cut the lip slot in the master... Rather than cutting a slot in every bait, let the mold do most of the work However, once the slot is molded in, there is no changing it... So if the lure doesnt perform, the mold is trash.... I learned this the hard way
  7. I use to make all my molds horizontal, i had the same problems you are having with many of them.... I learned that the horizontal molds work fine for small (crappie size) or long/slender baits (worms), but are a nightmare for bigger thicker baits Vertical is your solution for an injection mold of that caliber... If you want a simple 2 color bait, an open hand pour mold is the sure shot.... You can slightly round over the flat side by carefully "over filling" the mold, causing a "dome effect"

    Super Sunday

Al nailed it... I read the same thing... Boring?? Give me a break!!! Thing about football, there are several moments of excitement beyond scoring plays... Half a dozen turn overs, almost a dozen sacks and 2 long kick returns.... I was on the edge of my seat for 60 minutes! Only one thing bothered me... What happened to the final second???... 11 seconds left, 10 second run off from the penalty and all the cameras were on the Broncos sideline.... Did Cam neal on it? Or just walk off the field in a tantrum?

Watching them beat New England (regular season) with Osweiler made it evident they will still be contenders without Manning at Qb.... It would be fun to see Payton come back as a coordinator!

It was strange, his only TD was a 2 point conversion.... Hate to say this, but they could have done it without him

I was shocked!... Thought it was a joke at first... But i agree, she nailed it!

You aint kiddin!... #1 Defense is just a statistic... That performance was beyond impressive!!!.... Reminiscent of the 85 Bears Im glad Miller got MVP, he earned it!.... Cam will be back soon, maybe without the jitters next time.... But for now, he can go home and put some ice on it

    Super Sunday

Id watch regardless of whos playing, but since our "home away from home team" (Denver) is in it, its a big day!

    Super Sunday

"The Big Game"... Considered by many an American holiday What are we doing today? Charcoal and a 12 pack?.. Wings at a sports bar?.. Family? Friends? Both?...... Or out on an empty lake while the rest of the world is parked in front of a TV? And who we picking??
  16. Spike-It/Lureworks... Thats all ive used, and have no reason to try anything else...... Several good vendors out there, but ive never been disappointed with mine
  17. Best video ive seen on the subject.... Ive made several small soft bait molds this way, except i use a small piece of PVC pipe jammed into the clay instead of the big cup (less mold material) I plan to do some jigs this way soon, i dont forsee any issues other than figuring out a way to add any inserts (if needed)
  18. Welcome man! Topwaters are a good place to start imo, good practice of the overall build process without the tedious adjustments required on other baits Crankbaits are the fun part!... You're not making a lure, you're building a functional machine! Swimbaits scare me... So many pieces and parts to screw up!... Maybe some day i will face this fear
  19. A final hand sanding with 220 gets mine smooth enough... Thick primer even smoother... Then i put paint on and ruin it (ha ha!)
  20. Colored hooks... If youre not concerned with matching the color scheme
  21. Actually, sharing is what the site is all about Best plastic to use? This is purely opinion... The question has been asked before with several different answers Best place to buy is the place you can fill all your needs.. Shipping isnt free, so find a supplier you can order everything you need from rather than ordering from several different sites Grade?.... I guess you mean soft/med/hard... Depends on your needs... I like the soft formula... More action and better hook sets.... Some will argue about durability, but when the fish tear em up, i get to make more! Welcome to the forum!

    Pop-Max Blue Gill

I do it almost exactky the same way... I find that a little glitter distracts the eye away from my lack of painting skills...... But it also compliments a work of art like yours!
  23. That makes perfect sense Another option would be using a straight bouncer as a dropper.. Tying a 3 way as far up the line as you need it But, the customer is always right!.. If they wanna drag a clothes hanger with a pound of lead on it, theres nothing wrong with that
  24. If you have an old Jitterbug laying around, lay it on a piece of paper.. Make a mark at each end, make a mark at the top and bottom of the lip... Remove the lure, connect the lines with a ruler, extending the lip line as far as you can..... Then use a protractor to measure the angle
  25. Stunning!... And WOW!.... Beautiful work man!!!
