  1. I keep all my recipes with my photos in the gallery so i dont lose em Here it is http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/gallery/image/14897-rib-worm-junebug-blue/
  2. Also easier to judge how much glitter if you add it before the color
  3. Depends on the brand of colorant, some are stronger than others Fool proof way, is to heat the plastic first, til it becomes clear... Then you can add your color til you like it It will look darker in the cup than it does on the bait... So i always pour one bait and judge off it... If its not right, throw it back in the cup and remelt it, then add more color
  4. Hmmm... What about those "Bacos" bacon bits They're not real bacon, never go bad, and theyre crispy enough that you could probably grind them up just like coffee Just a thought

    Slip Crank repaint

Forgot to mention this is before and after Before (top) was done with rattle cans and sharpies After (bottom) is hand painted acrylics

    Slip Crank repaint

Simple black/chartreuse pattern, with chartreuse glitter on the back... The epoxy ran a little on this one and drug some of the glitter with it, but i think it still looks better than before! Also got our first dusting of snow down here, so i had to use it as a background before its gone

My take on a Tennessee shad pattern.... The colors are ivory and melted chocolate... Bottom and sides coated in clear epoxy first, then i mixed copper glitter in the rest of the epoxy before coating the back Idk how good this color works in my area, but ive always liked it, so figured id give it a shot!

Sharp looking baits there!... The all black eyes are a nice twist, and look even more alive than normal eyes What do you say to a lure with 2 black eyes?... Nothing, you already told it twice!
  9. Now thats different!... And some damn fine work!... So much detail, looks like its about to crawl off your bench! Id like one to cast over other fisherman's lines, for my own amusement... Those otters/beavers always seem to swim toward bobbers Or a top water goose would be even better!... Damn geese!
  10. Not only photobucket... My mobile phone does not cooperate with any photo hosting site Another picture problem i have... In order to post a pic on any thread, i must delete an old pic that i posted in the past..... Seems ive reached a limit on pictures?? This does not happen in the gallery, only the forums.... I dont think i post an excessive amount of pictures in the forums.... Anyone else have this problem??
  11. Ive never been able to view any pics linked from photobucket... Must not be "mobile friendly"
  12. For mobile users (me)... You must click on "full version" first, then follow the steps above... There are no upload options on the mobile version
  13. Trout is full of bones (especially small stockers) and they make a fine meal! Better question... How do you get past the bland rubber taste??...... Just for "try it sake" i cooked up a drum that my kid caught once... It was like eating a pencil eraser!
  14. Twas the morning of Christmas and all through the land... Children were up at the crack of dawn with stockings in hand Santa was tired and nestled in bed... While visions of assembly instruction manuals danced in his head When all of the sudden there came so much noise... Why did he buy such loud obnoxious toys?? He sprung from his pillow to see what was happening... All over were boxes and piled up wrapping The kids were hopped up and wired on sweets... While Santa just wanted to crawl back in his sheets They smothered him with huggs, thank you's and kisses.... A happy family to all, and to all merry Christmas!
  15. Hmmm... B + ) = Ill have to remember that
  16. I have a plan for next season... Theres a pond... Nay... A eutopia! In my neighborhood that i fished 3 years ago It is/was by far the greatest water ive ever wet a line in!... One particular trip, my 2 boys went thru 4 dozen minnows in less than 2 hours, caught more juvenile bass than they could count and went home with a stringer full of crappie... That same day i landed two 5 lb bass and one weighing almost 7 (still my pb) on a Roboworm (love that bait!) The water is public, owned by the county (flood prevention pond) but the land surrounding it is private, controlled by the homeowners.... Unfortunately, one of the residents had all his gear stolen from his boat right in his back yard.... After that, they put up a gate blocking the drive and locked it Such a shame!... This little gem would be a fantastic lure testing facility!.... I have devised 2 plans Plan A)..... Buy a helicopter... Remember, the water is public, i just cant cross their land to reach it Plan ..... Bribe.... Ive met this guy several times, he always came down to the water when he saw me out there.. Not to chat, just to let me know he was watching.. Understandable, it is his home... I went to his door once after the gate went up to ask permission, i was denied....... But i had nothing to offer in return I have my doubts about plan A... Ive never flown a helicopter before... So im hoping plan B will work.......... Just have to decide what lures make a good bribe??? Any suggestions??
  17. Thanks!... Its the glitter i got from Spike-it... Same stuff used in plastics... This is .008, smallest size they make
  18. Built this yesterday off the template of my most successful shallow runner.... Changed the lip angle to 20 degrees, lengthened the lip to 1 1/2 inches and moved the tow point out with a sideways eye on the lip Took it to the lake this morning, runs GREAT!... Consistently dives 7-8 ft, stays strait and true on a medium to fast retrieve... Takes an unreasonable amount of speed to blow out The paint job is all hand brushed acrylics... For the top coat, i covered the belly in clear D2T, then mixed glitter into the rest of the epoxy before coating the back........ I like it!

Beauty! I know its hard to give these away!... Hope you made two!

Yea, this ones different... I like it! Lip looks steep for a deep diver... The way it meets the blunt head is interesting, would love to see it in action!
  21. Heres mine.... Instead of a hood, i built a booth... With a 6" inline duct fan vented down through the floor Idea was, fumes have nowhere to go but up into the fan.. Instead of venting the whole room, im only venting the booth The system works, but the fan is not the ideal strength...... An 8" fan would be better, or a higher power 6" fan
  22. I think you nailed it!... Most deep divers ive seen have a curvature to the back, i understand how this can make the lure more stable... But i wanted a strait back, with no "tail wagging " on the swim This design showed me the fine line between treasure and trash... Definitely not a waste of time... I learned alot, and it will look good hanging on my wall

    Slip Crank Re-paint

Im still looking for my "style".... Ive always liked the look of glitter on hard baits, so maybe that's it?? I built a medium depth crankbait today using the same template from this lure, putting some paint on it now... Hopefully i can show it in the morning!

    Slip Crank Re-paint

I cant take credit for the color scheme, its pretty much a copy of an air brushed lure... But since i dont have an airbrush, i used the glitter for this effect...... I like it too! I'm happy i finally found a paint job i can do! Thats weird about the video... The music is an old TV show theme song
  25. It barley floats now, with a verry slow rise... That part i get, from the added weight of the extra epoxy But now it blows out to one side... I bend the eye, it blows out to the other side....... Before the 2nd coat of epoxy, i had the eye tuned to the point it ran strait Baffling???... Unless the extra weight of the epoxy is too much for the ballast to overcome??
