Oooh!... I did that a few years ago, but only a breast not the whole turkey.... I cheated, i injected it... But it was amazing!!! Also i made up a little brine and put it in a squirt bottle, just to keep the bird moist til there was enough fat in the pan to baste with

Kinda looks like a baby brisket... Ill have to try and find some, looks like a great alternative!... Briskets are so much work, id only do them for special occasions I remember the first brisket i ever smoked... I was raised on it here in Texas, but never made one myself til i moved to Colorado....... The wifes whole family was coming to our house for Thanksgiving, i mentioned smoking a brisket and found out none of them had ever even tasted one before.... So i had to do it! I had a little side box smoker.. The big 15 lb slab of beef barely fit in the cooking chamber... I timed it just right, lit the fire at midnight, added charcoal and wet mesquite chunks every hour all night, napping a little here and there.... 11 hours later she was done, with an hour to rest before lunch..... Did it turn out good??... Yes, which was the only problem.... It was also my wifes first year to cook the turkey... Who eats turkey when there smoked brisket lying around??? 9 years later and she still hasnt forgiven me for that one..... Oops

I havnt poured any resin... Yet... But that will change soon Ive watched a few videos on it... From what i gather, moisture is the enemy.... This time of year, the weather can be kinda haywire..... Mixing resin on a rainy day could be your cause of bubbles Im thinking of getting a dehumidifier to go in my new shop next month... Might help with this issue

If we're talking manufactured baits... Im not leaving the house without a strait tail Roboworm!... White or baby bass (both if you'll let me

My 2 older brothers are huge gear heads!.. They've been building race cars since before they were old enough to even drive em.... They both tried to get me into it, i was slightly interested, but just wasnt my thing.... Buying factory made parts and mounting them on factory made engines didnt get my "motor running".... Wasnt until almost 2 years ago i found what REALLY drives me when i stumbled across this site Do love me some 11 hour smoked brisket though!!!!!... Ive done a few, but im no pit master Aquariums, one of the previously mentioned brothers does this too... Looks impressive to me, but i havnt a clue what goes into it???... I think he grows (or makes) his own coral too

That wasp looks more like a bee... An ugly, evil bee!

There already is a product on the market for the waterfowl application.... Its a simple floating disk placed in the middle of your spread to make ripples on a calm day (which is essential!) Im reluctant to buy such a thing since it is useless on windy days.... Instead i cary a big cup full of small pebbles and just throw a handful in the water every now and then...... But eventually my arm gets tired, i stop, and ducks fly right by I have a few old broken decoys that would be good candidates to attempt this on... I guess the first step is finding a motor Maybe this doesnt belong in the discussion... M_V, if i can find the parts i need, i might message you if you wouldnt mind

I still cant stand wasps!... Not too crazy about bees either Spiders dont bother me cause they dont fly... But if they did, id move to the south pole!

So we all have one or two things in common here... We love fishing! And store bought equipment just doesn't cut it! But what else do you love to do, live to do, and think about when you're not doing it???..... I believe hobbies are essential to life.. Without them, whats the point of living??? For me....... Its hot coffee in the bitter cold dark of a December morning... Its counting down the seconds til sunrise... Its the sound of whistling wings in the winter air... Its the perked up ears and deadly stare of a labrador retriever ready to do the job she was born to do... Its the rush of adrenaline and the smell of burnt powder......... Thats right... Its duck season!!!!! Here in Texas, when you say you're a hunter, people ask "deer or hogs?"... I get funny looks when i say ducks... Cant help it, i love being on the water! Started this "side obsession" only 4 years ago, only took one trip to know it was for me!... The next year, i got me a dog.. A rescue from the animal shelter (free!)... She was 6 months old, classified as "lab mix", but shes ALL lab as far as i can see!... Beautiful girl! All black... Named her Hemi (shes in one of my lure videos) So then i spent some time on You Tube, ordered videos, books... Even watched alot of Cesar Millan (the dog whisperer) and trained her all on my own.. She trained well! She still listens better than my kids (ha ha)!.... She's not quite perfect, but neither am I... Speaking of kids, they love it too!.. Mainly the oldest, he's ALL about it!!! The youngest is still developing the patients..... We only hunt public land, cause im not gonna shell out a few grand every year for a lease.... We don't do well, but we still love going!.... A few duck dinners a year is sure better than none!........ I can already taste it!!!!

I have 1.... A simple ball head Do-It mold Out of curiosity, i went and counted all the molds ive made.... An even 2 dozen I started this hobby 19 months ago... 24 molds... Im more productive than i thought!

I don't think the catching ability needs to be validated... Not in this crowd.... The application is more relevant here Top water is the clear cut winner! Especially on a calm, glassy water day.. The ripples alone would be a "dinner bell" for fish But what else??? A vibrating bass jig might raise eyebrows... For me, a vibrating worm weight would be attractive! A suspending jerk bait that vibrates while suspending..... I know down sizing this much would be quite the task... But if you made vibrating crappie jigs, i could pay you in fillets!!! Or all these people with their "sinkos"... You make one of those plastic sticks vibrate... Caviar and Cadillacs my friend! Im sure you have a few aces up your sleeve, hope i didnt let any cats out of the bag..... I cant help it, just the way i think

Dont do this with DWP... Once it is thinned out, it dries rapidly and will not bond well with wet DWP... The brushed on portion tends to crumble away from poured portionWhat ive done is pour a thin layer, just enough to cover the master.. Then use a brush around the details to remove bubbles... Then pour the rest in..... I still get bubbles sometimes, ez touch up work with a small brush and a small cup of wet DWP... Watch how fast it dries when patching holes! Your sealer will hold the wet "patches" to the dry mold

He PLAYED for Singletary!... The kid made big plays and blocked like he had something to prove!... For a good while, i was convinced without him Kaepernick wouldnt throw a pass, until Crabtree decided to join us.... Now that you mention it, i havnt heard his name much this year...... My opinion, an overwhelming amount of tallent matched with an equal amount of emotional fragility........ When he's happy, he can PLAY!.... When he's not... Well... How many NFL players have been ejected from a game by their own coach???

I could not stand the Lions under Jim Schwartz, but now that he and donkey kong suh are gone, they're alright in my book Hate to admit it, but i was a Seahawk fan for ONE day back in February, and they let me down..... Vernon Davis wasnt that good... And the Patriots dont cheat

Ive refered to DWP (durhams water puddy) as plaster many times before... Not to cause confusion, but they are both quite similar Main differences are: DWP mixes thicker and has more working time in its "thick state" before hardening.. And is a bit stronger once cured Pop is cheaper, easier to find and less prone to bubbles.... But for me, it mixes too thin, then turns from "milk" to "rock" in seconds

Take note to Apdrivers comment!!!... The dangers associated trump the cost of a proper injector..... This is one area where i would discourage creativity That being said, i remember what it was like starting out... SO MANY things to buy!!! Not many can afford all that at once.... I still don't own an injector and i get along just fine.... You'll find my video in the other thread, along with the mention of a vacuum method that is still under works There are alternatives to buying an injector... But dont forget what you're dealing with
-
Here's the thread you're lookin for... Long winded, but some good ideas within http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/topic/30363-home-made-injector/?fromsearch=1

guess that could work.. since most of it soaks in the plaster...... did you add any glue to the plaster mixture itself??...... just a thought, since the glue would not evaporate like the water

Awesome! Keep me posted!... Ive made quite a few DWP molds and prefer it over pop any day! (except for the price).... But im new to pouring lead... If yours works, ill have to try it too... I have a new bait in mind that i havnt had the courage to try making yet, cause its lead
