  1. Here ya go Deimai Wobbler bauen Teil 1 Making Crankbaits Part 1: Wobbler bauen Teil 2 Making Crankbaits Part 2: Good videos!... I didnt see anything about sealer in part 1... Im guessing propionate??
  2. To add to Dale's post.. A visual center line on your cut out will help keep both sides symmetrical when carving, this line will run down the back and belly... If you start with a squared/flat sided cut out, this is easy Speaking of Vman, i learned this from him..... 1) Ill make 2 stacks of popsicle sticks laying flat on my bench parallel to each other, ill lay a fine tip sharpie across the sticks 2) With my cut out laying flat side down, ill adjust the stacks until the sharpie is close to the center level of the back... 3) Simply spin the cut out around the sharpie.... Now you have a strait line all the way around the cut out.... But this line is NOT the center 4) Flip the cut out over and repeat... Now you have 2 lines the exact same distance from each edge of the cut out... The small space between these lines will be the exact center of your bait
  3. Tools are usualy collected over time.. While they make the job easier, some arent necessary when starting out If you have an artistic touch, there are some of guys that can shape a block of balsa or basswood into a flawless body with only a $10 carving knife and sand paper If not (like me), a $40 dremel rotary tool can just about do it all Heres one thing i screwed up when i first started... When buying material to make lips for your crank baits, make SURE it is lexan (or polycarbonate) and NOT acrylic sheet.... Too the untrained eye, they both look the same Welcome to the lure building world!... You will find hours of enjoyment, minutes of frustration and days of glory!
  4. Try rubbing a balloon on the carpet, then hold that above the plastic box on the scale... Curious if it gets even lighter??
  5. Came across this old thread on a search... Im looking to copy and remold an old bait i made... Had a few problems keeping the tails in place while pouring/brushing plaster on them.... If i could stiffen them up a bit, i think my problems will be solved Id rather not have to order anything just for this, or use a quantity of something i would have to replace by ordering.... Something from the Walmart or Lowes i could pick up after work would be ideal Ive read the "no no's" of using certain typed of oils on (or in) plastisol for result of this effect... I know from experience that vegetable oil does this, but it takes several days/weeks... In my reading, mineral oil seems the worst (or best in my case) at stiffening plastic.... Was gonna pick some up and try it for myself, but figured I'd ask about it first Does the mineral oil do this over time like vegi oil? Or sooner?... Is there anything worse/better??
  6. That explains everything!☺
  7. Good research!... I will be getting a digital scale soon (should have a long time ago!) so this will be quite useful Also a good place to post this question... What is the shelf life for this stuff? I had half a can of resin go bad so i threw it out and got a new can, but i kept the hardener and tried using it before opening the new tube of hardener... No matter how much i add, the bondo dries to a rubbery consistency... The hardener in the new tube works fine The can i threw out was over a year old, so same for the hardener... Both worked fine together when i first bought it
  8. As well you should be!... In this "knock off market" its refreshing to see new ideas!... Keep up the good work man! The slayer looked like a solid, dialed, hard running crank in your video.... Look forward to seeing the bug perform for us soon!!
  9. An unmolested lure market?... Id keep that detail under wraps, or else next thing you know, half the TU members move to Indonesia
  10. You will want to post them in the soft bait gallery From the gallery 1) click "upload" 2) choose file 3) review and publish (this is where you type a name and description) 4) post If you are using a mobile phone (like me), you'll need to switch to the "full version"...... If it says "file too large", try taking a screen pic of the origional photo (this reduces the resolution and makes the file smaller).. Then it should upload
  11. I like bug plug... Bottom bug sounds like a soft plastic bait... Plus it rhymes
  12. Sorry, i cant help.. Just wondering how long that All Star lasted you before it broke?? I bought one on impulse.. I had read about and planned on buying a different rod, but the All Star just felt better in my hands!....... So far i LOVE it!... But i havnt caught anything over 3 lbs on it yet

I wasn't gonna post this one because of the poor camera work... But i never claimed to be a photographer, so you understand
  14. Pm is a private message... Easiest way would be click on Curts name up top, then click "send me a message" on his profile Congrats on the win man!.. And welcome to TU!
  15. You're not using a pink cup are you? I use the bottom of a beer can, sometimes ive noticed the printed/stamped numbers (on the can) fade and slightly tint the epoxy when i begin to mix... But this is minimal, and i havnt noticed any change to the end result Just another detail to point out.. You've thought of everything else
  16. Ive just been throwing them out... I get a cheap pack of 30 or so for a couple bucks..... This leads me to wonder what kinda brushes everyone else is using?
  17. Remember this?.... Back to the Future 2... Marty travels to the future... To the year 2015 Put some money on the cubbies:
  18. Always swore id never spend this much on a fishing pole, yet here she is! Took me half a day in the store picking it out, and the other half in the yard remembering how to use it (havnt picked a baitcaster up in over 10 years) Anyone know a good brand name of womens shoes??
  19. Good stuff!... I dig your videos man, keep em comin!
  20. How bout back in the day when a stadium didnt sell out tickets, so they would black out the game from local TV.... Quite a marketing ploy that was!
  21. Same reason we have to say "The Big Game" instead of Superb**l... Billion dollar industries nit picking the mention of their empire
  22. Wish i could relate... But i dont follow baseball at all.... Heard on the radio that the Rangers are out, that's the extent of my knowledge... Are the Astros still in it??
  23. You know what they say about all work and no play I get it though... Yours is a different kind of work... Mine is 60-70 hrs a week with a DOT mandantory 34 hour reset (one day off to make lures or fish)... If i couldn't fish, id have to rethink my way of life
  24. Now that youve got it dialed in, its time to go out and use it
  25. Tough being a contestant too!... Truly the best in the craft here on this site!... Congrats to the winners! Somthin to be proud of! Same time next year??
