Mark, i was a HUGE fan of Roboworm before i started making my own!.... Not because of the colors, because of the action..... The thinnest, softest worm on the market (that i knew of) As for forage, this lake is teaming with tiny bluegill!... They flood the boat launch every time i go, until i scare them off... Other lakes in the area are stocked with shad (gizzard i think) but im not sure about this one..... But in my experience, matching the hatch isnt always best... Fish a quirky little creatures

Guess i forgot to mention my favorite worm colors -anything with watermelon -anything with black -and the tequila color.. Which i dont have, ill have to look up that recipe some day

Ice water and pills! I like the leather garden gloves.. They slide off and on easy when i need to do a tedious task

I got the blood red for some little trout worms i made.. I made a craw bait with it just for kicks, havnt done any good with that one The spot im fishing now has the clearest water ive seen in my area (in fact the name is Clear Lake).. About 4 ft visibility with slight green stain Took me a few trips to find the fish, now that i know where they are i can find the right color

Its a habit that can be picked up at any time I was tobacco free for the first 30 years of my life.. Started fishing with a brother in law that always brought along a pack of black n milds... Kinda became our ritual Next thing u know, im buying packs and bumming cigarettes from the wife..... But 5 years later (now) ive just about got it kicked... I cheated, got the fake one (e-cig), but hey, gotta have something to do while plastic cools

X2 on the black/blue... That was the 1st color worm i ever made, still have a few left, just wanna try somthin new Ben, i was just looking at red bug on the zoom site... I dont have that color, but ill need to get it if you use it.. Being as we are practically neighbors I do have blood red, wonder if that would be close enough??

I was thinking both of those colors.. Now its confirmed Last batch i made some in root beer, i thought they looked good, but the fish didnt seem to care for them.... Just me?

Searched around and found a good long arguement on the importance of lure color... Interesting read, but the fact is, a lure has to be some color... What's your favorite?... Talking worms here Ive never experimented much with color when BUYING lures... Didnt have the inclination to buy 10 bags of each bait i fished... But now that i make my own, i have this option Finally got out of the shop and spent some time on the lake... Running low on worms, time to make some more Went through the whole bag of watermelon, so definitely making more of them..... But what else??

I got a half cup on my left hand.. Dropped it, reflex catch it Its no joke! Ironic i have to wear gloves at work, and the blisters were too big to fit the glove over..... Lesson learned, best to wear gloves when melting plastic

No need for a lathe, ive carved all my lures with a dremel, they look fine if i dont get in a hurry... Yours looks great! Ive gotten mixed results with the 5 minute epoxy.. Eventually i got some Devcon 30 minute, the right choice! My first topwater lure is hanging on my wall because i tried to "guestimate" the weighting... You definitely want to float test a new lure before finishing it... And write everything down so you can build it again and again Nice work and welcome to the club!

4 inch long weight forward inline spinner Head is a 1/2 oz egg sinker powder coated with chart glitter and coated with epoxy Gold beads, #2 hammered brass blade.. Hand tied yellow bucktail treble The shaft is made from acoustic guitar string... Great vibration even from a smaller blade The string is tied onto twisted ss wire eyes with thread and the connection is epoxied... The groves in the sting make for a strong bond with the thread Cant wait to try it out! -
Nice bait for sure... Impressive video.... But WHO buys this stuff??? For that price, id expect a motorized bait with a camera in its mouth! Seriously though, i was surprised to see these are only 2 and 3 piece baits..

As mentioned, all this work is easier done on a square cut out than a carved body.. But im guessing your carving machine doesn't give you that option Heres what i would try: Make a 2 piece mold of the body with a hard material like bondo, making sure the edges are square... Open it up, mark/measure your holes and slot angle.. Close it up and carefully make your incisions From then on... Clamp, cut, drill, next Sounds too simple, so im sure im missing something??
