So i tried wrapping the loop itself 6 times, then over the open end (screw eye) as you said, then pulling the loop closed with the tag end...... I cant say it worked, i can't say it didnt.... But i can say i dont want to see this spool of thread again for the rest of the night!

I decided on the wrap/whip meathod This is my 1st try... Keep in mind, i have no fly tying equipment (yet).... This was attempted with a spool of the wifes sewing thread (no bobbin, just the spool), bench vice and vice grips I must have done something wrong... It took a little muscle, but i was able to pull both loops out of the wrap...... Is there a trick i dont know??..... I used super glue for the test, would epoxy yield the strength i need?

And as for powerbait lures.. If youve ever put one in your mouth (not that i would do that), it has a salty flavor (not that i would know)... But i dont think their baits are salted, i could be wrong, but i dont see salt in them

Not only is the scent water based, but the plastic is too An analogy was used in the article comparing taste of normal plastic baits to eating a sandwich in a plastic bag.. Sure, you taste the sandwich, but you can still tell youre chewing on the bag The water based plastic and scent in Gulp claims to "take the sandwich out of the bag"

Basseducer was just pointing out that our "unnamed pharmacist" is back in the classified section again But i agree, scent is a good topic Im not a big proponent for using scents on artificials.. Of course fish can smell, but if im using artificials im after the reaction strike The right action in the right place at the right time will provoke a strike, reguardless of smell in most situations.... Taste is a bigger factor imo... My favorite baits, before i started making my own, were Berkley powerbait and gulp... In my experiece, fish actually did hold the baits longer just like the package says Id like to hear if anyone has a recipe similar to what Berkley uses??

I still dont like it But i do like analogies Lets assume some kid shows up at our door offering to mow our lawn... He says his name is "Rufus" and claims to mow all the lawns on our block.. We ask around and find out "Rufus" has an outstanding reputation in the neighborhood We pay "Rufus" up front... "Rufus" shows up the next day while we are at work.. We come home to find patches of tall grass in the front, and the back hasnt been touched... Plus our wifes cat is mysteriously missing half its tail We call everyone in the neighborhood and tell them to boycott "Rufus".... Weeks later, we find out Rufus is a 50 year old man who had a small landscaping business and did EXCELLENT work!... But mysteriously lost half his customers.. And found half of a cats tail in his mailbox one morning So now V-lures could be in the same boat as poor ol Rufus...... I dont like it!
