    Hollow Frog!

You nailed it... I did it just how you said..... But they turned out to be failures..... Some of the plugs Just fell off, and after enough use the weedless hook tears thru the nose and let's water in i did manage to get one to float long enough to catch one fish.. So not a complete failure I used soft formula, maybe a harder plastic will do the trick..... I might try shooting some more when the weather warms up Nova (member here) makes some really nice hollow frogs, I got the idea from an old pic of his here in the gallery, I just changed mine up a bit
  2. Looks like pumpkin seed.. Without the seed
  3. I just heard this morning might have something to look forward to now!... Still a young team with plenty of talent.. They just need direction
  4. From the outside looking in, it seems to be more about politics than football with this team... I'm not getting my hopes up to see a change any time soon... Though I would like to be proven wrong
  5. X3 Hopefully Santa found those hackers and filled their stockings with coal
  6. Hey, we'll get some good draft picks next year! Just too bad you can't draft a new gm
  7. Ha!... No, I used black play-do.... But the puppy sure looked funny the day she chewed up a bunch of acrylic paint bottles
  8. Ha!... I use to use Play-do to seal the base of my mold boxes... Did you know dogs like to eat Play-do?.. I didn't One day after making and sealing a box, I stepped away for a few seconds, came back and poured some plaster in the box, and all over my bench it went...... I thought I was going crazy, I know I sealed the box, but there was no Play-do anywhere on it Later I found the empty Play-do jar in the corner with teeth marks all over it... Then it was just a matter of putting 2 and 2 together
  9. Yea, same problem with epoxy I was sealing a mold one day, I forgot I had used the tip of the brush handle to get into a tight spot.. I needed both hands for something, so out of habit I put the brush handle in my mouth to hold it for a second Bla!!!... That bitter taste stuck for almost an hour... Then a little dizziness kicked in, maybe from the DA thinner..... Couldn't believe one tiny drop could have that effect
  10. I should mention the resin I used was Bondo fiberglass resin.... Don't know how much it differs from other resins, but it says fiberglass on the can...... I would never use it on a lure, Solarez would be a much better option as Mark stated

    PVC Lumber

X2 I can't think of a specific reason to use PVC over any other material for a master..... Any material you can carve and shape will serve the same purpose.. From wood to clay to wax to ect ect
  12. I used fiberglass resin to seal the plywood floor in my job boat... On a hot day, when the sun beats down on it, one of the corners always warps and rolls up about 2" off the deck.... Once night falls and it cools back down, the floor flattens out again No telling what would happen to a crank bait in a hot tackle box thrown into the cool water
  13. That's a ton of bench space!!! I find the more bench space I have, the more clutter I accumulate..... Having a smaller bench forces me to organize more often, but I'd still like to have that kinda room! I can just picture you sitting on the floor Indian style in front of that microwave waiting impatiently for the plastic to heat Brings back fuzzy memories of me and my little brother hovering over the Creepy Crawler oven
  14. No steel wool... I did that once, left an ugly dark spot I couldn't get out no matter how much I sanded
  15. Nice space Dale!... And top notch work on the tools! Only one thing missing... The bait tree needs some lights around it and a star on top
  16. One of these days I'll have a boat fancy enough for two sonars, but this is what I'm working with now... And the reason I only fish smaller waters The display is mounted on the small front shelf, so it's right in front of my face..... Transom mount wasn't an option cause the boat rides in the back of my truck, so there's always some dragging and sliding involved when loading/unloading..... So it's on my trolling motor, which gets dismounted when the boat leaves the water I'll check that link out now, thanks again!
  17. Thanks Bob When I say "offshore" I just mean not on the shore... The shore line has been all I could see until now... The lakes I fish are small (30-40 acres) so I run out of shore line fast Ill mainly be looking for submerged duck blinds that were built when the water was low.... There's on in particular that was made from a layed over tree, at least 20 ft long and about 20 feet from the main creek channel..... I have no idea how deep it sits now cause I haven't been able to find it by dragging a Texas rig... It's the 20' needle in a 30 acre hay stack..... But now I have my needle detector! So it's unanimous that I need another battery... I'll make due with the malfunction til after the holidays, then get me a battery... Hopefully that will be the ticket, luckily it does work currently, just a little annoying with the screen problem Thanks for all the help!... Maybe just one more dumb question..... A hard bottom shows up brighter right? And a soft bottom would show up kinda dull??
  18. My wife pulled a great one years ago Her sisters was over for a visit and when she left she forgot her cell phone... I found it on the counter and picked it up... When I told the wife, she did the logical thing.. She calls her sister to tell her she left her phone behind There was only one problem and I sat back with a big grin waiting for her to figure it out... But she didn't.. When the phone in my hand wrang I answered, wish I had something clever to say but all I could do is laugh... You should have seen the look of confusion on her face When she finally realized what happened, she tried to make me promise never to speak of it again.... But this was just too good Now whenever I do something stupid, I can say "remember that one time?"
  19. I was on TU one day and I posted a story about losing my channel locks... 3 years later I posted the same story
  20. Everything I own has legs... I set stuff down, and it runs away I once spent almost an hour looking for my socket adapter for the drill.. I gave up and drove to Home Depot 20 miles away and bought another one.. Got home, walked inside and there was the missing adapter sitting on a table right by the door

    "Roughed up" jerk baits

This was kind of an accident... I ran out of 220 and 320 grit sand paper, so I used the 100 grit I had left.... They looked kinda rough, but I finished them anyway The paint is Krylon Max gold and silver (rattle cans).. And you can't tell from a still picture, but when you turn the baits they have a cool effect with the way the light hits the paint in the groves.... Kinda looks like a live minnow after you've handled it and some of the scales rubbed off Not the prettiest baits I've made, but I think I like em!
  22. Interesting... How much does the acetone prolong the cure time w the 5 minute stuff??..... I'm even pressing for time with 30 minute/alcohol in a multi cavity mold... And I go pretty thin, not water thin, more like cooking oil thin

    bib shapes

If it worked, it worked.... It's fun to guess and theorize, but testing is the end answer Seems to me lip #2 should do what you're asking.... As the top of the lip is slimmer, I'd imagine water to take the path of least resistance and shed around the thinner point and impart most of the action at the nose of the bait rather than the end of the lip.... In theory, you create a shorter lip without sacrificing the depth given by the original size
  24. Yes and yes Just make sure you mix the 2 parts well before you add the alcohol
