Thanks to the many posts on this forum in helping me put together ideas for my version of a lure drying wheel! I bought a universal grill rotisserie kit. Then I went to Michael's Craft shop and got 5inch wooden disks for .99c each. I bought some binder clips, screws and washers to put on the edge of the disks. I alternated the direction of the binder clips so that the lures wouldnt interfere with each other. The biggest dilemia I had was "How was I going to secure the wooden disks to the rotisserie spit"? I went to a "big box" home improvement store and they were no help. I went to my local Ace Hardware where I KNOW I can get great service and these guys know their products and very friendly. The shop owner found these metal collars with a set screw! The wooden disks slipped slighly but I had rubbery medical tape I put under it and helps secure it in place from slipping. I have 2 disks and I also made sure to stagger the clips between the two wheels as well so the larger lures wont interfere with the ones on the opposing disk (wheel). This was a very simple project and hope this helps! One thing to note.. Those binder clips didnt initially hold my baits well.. kept slipping so I used that rubber medical tape and placed a couple strips inside the jaws of the clips to hold the baits more securely. I'm sure pieces of duct tape would work just as well. IMG_5872.mov IMG_5872.mov IMG_5872.mov IMG_5872.mov IMG_5872.mov IMG_5872.mov IMG_5872.mov IMG_5872.mov IMG_5872.mov

A friend of mine gave me a great lead on packaging here in the states and prices are reasonable. http://www.durapak.net/

I have been buying clamshell packaging online for .49c each for my lures. Does anyone have a lead in china where I can get them at a more reasonable cost but not with a minimum order quantity of 3000-5000 pieces? If the price is right I'd do about 1000 pieces initially. I have emailed a few on Alibaba.com but the MOQ is a lot. Any help would be appreciated.

Additional coats would add weight.. A second coat probably doesn't effect it as much. I really have't had to add more than one coat of DevCon

I got some from www.blisters.com for .26c a piece but must buy 1000.. I found some from manufacturers in China on www.alibaba.com for about .8c a piece plus shipping.. It took a lot of emails and back and forths and got a little frustrating so I decided to save myself the headache and go with blisters.com for about .43c each I believe Lure Parts.com sells them

Rather than write out a recipe, I created a video tutorial for painting an natural looking crappie pattern. Very simple and only uses 3 paint colors! Hope everyone benefits from these tips! -Mike

Natural crappie pattern. This was achieved by using Irridescent Pearl white, Transparent May Green, then using an artists sponge dipped in black paint for the crappie markings. Then reduced some black paint for the back and around the eyes as well as slightly over the top sides to enhance the body markings. Great for clear water applications
