  1. One day I plan on buying something custom from Bob.
  2. We are on the same page.
  3. Wow thanks Travis and JRammit. That is some good advice. That makes things so much simpler.
  4. JRammit I tried shooting cooler didn't work. The only thing that changed is that the tails didn't fill all the way in. I didn't like the look of that. And Davemc1 I tried holding pressure and that didn't do anything ethier. That was the first thing I did after searching this forum for some advice. Thanks for the advice anyway. The only thing I guess I have left is to open up the gates more. That is the last thing I didn't do I just need to get a dremel. Apdriver I think Doitmolds needs to tweak there mold design so that doesn't happen any more. I don't know about you but I wouldn't consider myself a machinist. So if I end up fixing that mold I know they can.
  5. Ok guys I just bought the Do it Superfry mold. The only problem is every time I shoot it I get denting. I got a suggestion from someone that I should use a dremel to open up the gates on that mold more. I trust his suggestion but I was wondering if I can get some more advise from you guys. Thanks
  6. I read somewhere that 24hours was ok. That is what I do. Then I meet a pretty cool guy that sells baits in my area and he said that he lets them sit for 5 days.
  7. Wow Vodkaman. I read some of your other posts and I noticed that you get really scientific. So I guess I need to get myself a good scale. This information is going to come in handy thanks.
  8. What's up everyone. I was wondering if any of you guys bake your plaster of Paris molds. I usually just let them dry out on there own for at least a week. But the last one I made I wanted to try baking it. It came out good but it took forever. I was baking at 350 degrees and I would check it every 30 min but every time I took it out of the oven it was steaming. I did that for a good 3-4 times so it took a while. Then I got fed up and just raised the heat to 375 for another 30 min and it finally seemed like it was dry. I was just wondering what is the best temperature to get it done fast.
  9. I thought you were going to ask what the best sealant was and I agree. I started with Mod Podge but it peals way too much and you lose detail. Then I seen a video on youtube and the guy recommended the Lundmark floor wax. He is a member of this forum and I seen him post a few times. Mod Podge is ok but the floor wax is way better.

Damn those look great. Do you mind me asking where you got the mold and how you made the colors?
  11. Yeah I heard of that floating additive. I read somewhere that it is dangerous to use and it messes up your plastics color. I am not going to worry about it anymore and just buy some more Baitjunkys plastic I know that it works so that is good enough I guess.
  12. He said that no plastic truly floats without bubbles. Maybe that is why my other lures floated they must of had more bubbles in it.
  13. Yeah Mark I am going to do that. And to let everyone know I still caught fish with it and I do like the stuff. I don't want anyone to think that I am saying that it wasn't any good.
  14. I never added salt smallmouth. I know that if I want to make a stick bait to add salt. But I made plain old plastic worms and when I used Lurecraft plastic they float. With Baitjunkys it slowly sinks. I am using the same mold and design that is why I figured Baitjunkys plastic must sink.
  15. I don't get it guys. For some reason my plastic doesn't float like that. I have put worms in a aquarium to test them and they will sink on there own without a hook. Maybe the next batch I order from them will be different.
  16. I agree with you JRammit it depends on what I am making. I am sure that if I am going to make some stick baits or a plastic swimbait on a jighead it doesn't matter. But what if I want to make a worm for a Carolina rig. Does a floating plastic make any difference. From what I know it is not just about the plastic being soft for it to float because the first gallon I ordered was Lure craft soft and all of my worms floated. Then I ordered some Baitjunkys soft and they sank.
  17. Hey I just wanted to get your guys opinions. I have been using Baitjunkys plastic and I am almost out. I plan on ordering some more plastic soon. The thing is I really like it and I like the price. The only thing that is bothering me is the fact that it doesn't float. I read that for certain techniques floating plastic is better. Does floating plastic catch more fish or does that not really matter. I am pretty sure most of you guys are going to say something different but I still want to hear what everyone has to say.
  18. Whoa that is a lot of salt Dave you don't mess around.
  19. I got to ask you Dave out of all of the salts you named who's did you like the best. I am using popcorn salt now and I like it but I want to try out one of the salts you mentioned.
  20. Maybe he is using too coarse of a salt and it is settling in the cup before he can pour it.
  21. I know you didn't ask me Gator but that is it. .
  22. Wow that is pretty badass. The funny thing is I was going to ask about this today. I just remembered reading this article when I first got into making my own plastics http://www.bassmaster.com/tips/pouring-soft-plastics-part-3# It mentions making a cup like the one you made.
  23. I was wondering where you got your glitter from. Someone told me that I should just buy some glitter from Michael's but I read somewhere that you should not use regular glitter in a microwave. But I can see from your videos that there is no problem. I am going to have to get some now. I also like the sound of the 50% off deal.
