  1. Height basically is what I want. Like I said there are easier faster ways to do what I want, but I always been that way to take the longer route to get there ha. I fish walleye strictly and we travel to Canada couple times a year and those are my dedicated trips. Buddy up there asked if I could make them as one tourney he fished those taller rigs did better. Then that first year I gave some 18" bouncers to another buddy here in town to fishhere with. So he also fished an tourney and he did well placing in top 5 and said they made a difference as fish we're up off bottom vs tight to bottom. I have strictly ran these taller bouncers every weekend while fishing and seem to like them but it is hard to determine if they help or not. So I need stronger wire as I normally run 1.5-2oz weights and being that tall with so much weight it is like pulling a cooked spaghetti noodle thru the water. So i am trying to make it so I'm dragging a 2x4 thru water and keeping 18+/- " depth
  2. Thanks for the tip did not think of mcmaster Guess I'll try some wire and see if I can't "straighten " it out or get it close enough by handit. Worth the try specially for 12+$! Later Joe
  3. I am thinking of trying to make my own bottom bouncers wires. I currently had guys I found on eBay make them for me, but am thinking of trying to make my own. Where do you guys find bulk wire to make your own bucktails? I am not sure if it makes a huge difference but been running 18-24" bouncers but issue is I am trying to find thick and sturdy wire. Looking for. 052 or bigger wire would like to find. 060+ which I know may be an issue bending but seen the new tool you use in a vise may work. I know the musky guys use thicker wire so that is what I am trying to find is thicker wire in bulk. I found the afw wire but couldnt find any in thicker diameter. Will piano wire work? Thanks Joe
  4. Thanks for the feedback. I don't mind spending the $$ on something nice. I had looked earlier at California air compressor and for some reason I saw 350-500 as price tag. Little to much for my liking. I researched this afternoon and saw home depot has them 20% off. I could get them for around 200 which is still a lot of coin but if they are super quiet and will last 5+years then to me it could be worth the money. Has anyone had any issues with the California air compressor. Likes or dislikes besides the hefty price tag. Thanks Joe
  5. I am in need of finding a airbrush compressor. I wouldn't mind getting one with a tank so it is not running the whole time I paint. Harbor freight has 3 gal for 39.99. Does anyone run one? I see it may be noisey but have a idea of building a noise box to help but wanted to see if this would work. I do this as a hobby so I run it few times a week for few hours http://m.harborfreight.com/3-gal-13-hp-100-psi-oilless-pancake-air-compressor-61615.html Thanks Joe
  6. Thanks for the response! I had seen the tu pricing for dicknite and was going to order last week but thought of the concrete sealer instead. Looks like I will go with dicknite just need to finish the research in how to apply, if I can use the drying wheel I got, if brushing vs dipping is better. Thanks Joe
  7. Long time reader, but first time posting. I am pretty new to tackle crafting and guess I have mixed feelings over devcon so looking for other options . I don't mind it but have had uneven amounts and when it dries it is tacky. I bought some Bob Smith epoxy at hobby lobby so I'll try that also. I was at fleet n farm yesterday saw some concrete sealer on sale. I can not get gst sealer local so was looking for feed back on drylok wetlook concrete sealer. Will I be OK or should I stick with 2part epoxy mainly doing jigs ,spinner blades and crankbaits. Also looked into dicknite so my options are....(I'm also try in get some uv powder to add to epoxy if that helps) Dicknite Wetlok concrete sealer BSI epoxy Devcon Thanks Joe
