  1. I have not received AA"s sample yet, but from his description of the way micro's worked in soft plastic I would tend to agree they would be the same. The Lurecraft website mentions the same effects, stiffness and opacity, in their description of the Floater bubbles in soft plastic baits. Thanks, AZ
  2. http://www.coastairbrush.com/proddetail.asp?prod=AutoBorne_Transparent_Sealer Your link did not work. This is what I have been using on wooden swimbaits. My link says transparent but I use white. It taken several coats for good coverage and then needs to sanded before painting. I have a pint bottle and tend to get small dry pieces in the sealer from the lip of the container and the inside of the cap even after cleaning both when resealing the bottle. I shake well and strain before each use. My .02
  3. Richard, thanks for the suggestion. I did contact them, didn't talk to Kim but did talk to another nice young lady. She said she didn't know if they were the same product and when I asked if anyone else there might know she replied she didn't think so. AA and I have sent each other some in the mail for comparison. Should arrive in the next day or so. Will post the findings. Thanks
  4. I have some "Super Floater Bubbles" from Lurecraft for use in soft plastic baits. Will these work in place of "Micro balloons" for use in resin lures? Could they be the same product just repackaged? Thanks, AZ
  5. Mark, I've found on the ones I've made they seem to have less action, like the split ring kind of absorbs some of the wobble. I much prefer the blade attached directly to the head of the bait. I also bend my blades forward, not back, not sure if that's correct but I like the way it makes the bait "Hunt". Interested to hear which way others face their bended blades? Sorry, not to hijack the thread.

  7. My experience with this product is it works to a degree. I does glow in the bottle nicely under a black light. When clearing a lure with it, it took multiple (3-5) coats to really get it to glow well. With multiple coats the paint and color of the bait began to get muted and cloudy. It worked well for some deep diving cranks that I painted flat black for the summer nights. Being as I just wanted a plain black bait, I laid lots of coats of UV seal coat on and it glowed nicely. If you're doing high end detailed paint jobs, might not work for that. There are a bunch of vids on Youtube on the subject, search UV Lure Coatings...

  9. Not sure how I added this link twice, but here is a previous post about compressors.

I got it on a 20% off one item on Ebay earlier this year. This thing is incredibly quiet, has fast cycle times, and holds consistent pressure @ 40-50 psi for priming. I paint in the spare room in the house, it's quiet enough for that. Can talk on the phone and/or hear the TV while it's running. I have used a Master Airbrush compressor and a Harbor Freight one as well.

  12. I usually do two, but I dip the bait not spray, then place on a turner. I would try several light coats until you achieve the desired coverage.
  13. That was the first airbrush I bought. Wasn't advertised as a cake decorating kit then, and it was $99. The compressor overheated quickly and would shut down. The brushes were so so, you can paint OK with them but they're not really user friendly. I now have several Iwata brushes that work great and a Cal Air Tools compressor and couldn't be happier. You get what you pay for really applies here. I say spend the $$ on good stuff, I wish I had in the beginning. My .02

  16. Good one Mark, you've been on a roll lately!!!!
  17. Just turn a regular drop shot #7 line grip swivel upside down in the mold and then you have the round end sticking out. You might have to open up the pinch end a little for the lead to grab. You can use the same swivel both ways.
  18. I just saw where Dakotalakestackle is going out of business. He has a lot for sale that includes a whole bunch of airbrush stuff for $360 money order or cashiers check. 80 bottles of paint, two Iwata brushes, a Dremel tool and acc. and some stencils. Pretty good deal for someone. Bunch of lure blanks as well.
  19. I've found some answers here when I've had issues before. Maybe it will help. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=airbrush+troubleshooting+
