    Mylar Minnows

How do they look in the water? I thought about making one similar to yours. One that floats with tube type insulating foam from the hardware store.
  2. Nice work man and video. What size hook are you using?

    Streamer

#4 Salt or Sweet Water. FTD craft fur over white saddles.
  5. Finally got around to using some old corks I found at a flea market last year. Tools: Hacksaw, scapel (safety razor blades work too), sand paper 200 grit, latex gloves. First I prime with 2 coats of exterior gloss white and let set for a day. I used markers and then blended colors for the desired effect. (Blending is achieved by quickly rubbing with a tissue that is slightly dampened with denatured alcohol. If you are unhappy with the first results a clean alcohol dampened tissue can completely remove all marker.) For the final top coat I used solarez, the thin version. Lastly, hit with a UV light for a few minutes, then put in the sun to fully cure for a non tacky finish. (A thin application of long curing epoxies also work well for top coat.) The first one floats half submerged, and the second one is 2/3 submerged. I'll let the fish decide which is better
  6. Dropout works fine lasts a long time. Ladle works because you can throw a ton of lead at the spruce very quickly.
  7. Fat man nice job. So what dye did you use?

  12. Neat stuff thanks for sharing. I have been wanting to do this too with some rabbit.

    Ul Chubby

LedHed very well done... you do nice work! Do you mold your own Ul chub jigs, if so who makes the mold.
  15. Incredible to find two lure after such a long time & in excellent condition. Dieter attached is link. Best regards, Harry.

Use only ACID DYES for vibrant colors and permanent results. Cool-aid and rit which aren't acid dyes are more pastel colors. Best price I have found is Dharma. They sell Jacquard and their own brand which is even better priced. http://www.dharmatrading.com/dyes/all-fabric-dyes-from-dharma-trading-co.html?lnav=dyes.html Dying Instructions Tip: measure by weight only. Weigh the dye and product and go by their recommendations for dye vs product. http://www.dharmatrading.com/information/jacquard-acid-dye.html
  19. Just So I understand. You ran the Eastwood powder coat oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes on a batch of 1/2 oz footballs and they turned out fine, correct? That confirms what a local PP business is telling me, that 350 degrees for 30 min should be fine.
  20. Thanks for sharing your test results. Have you cycled any lead jigs yet? If so what temp/time did you settle on? Do any drop test for the finished PP?
  21. Basseducer, thanks for the info, as well as posting this in the first place. Good to know no cold spots. Sounds like the fan is doing it's job. What is temp difference near the fan? It will be nice to put in a big load instead of alot of smaller ones. I will probably use the ovens I currently have for pre heating my jig heads for powder painting then finish heating them with the heat gun to make the Powder stick. ETA is Thursday, I'll keep you posted after my first trial run.
  22. Ordered mine today, hope it's easier to use than my 2 smaller ovens. You sold me with more room and good temp control. Do you get even temps through out oven? Are 3 knobs top/bottom temp & timer?
  23. A recent experiment. I put on chrome powder paint and baked. Next I put on a translucent lime PP and colored the back with a black sharpie. Lastly I dipped the jig in a clear PP and baked @ 225F. End product is a quick durable PP finish that looks great. I was suprised how much the black sharpie adds to the look and that it did not burn. I want to try red sharpie and some fingernail polish next.
  24. Nice job smalljaw. Stellar paint job. After applying all paint and the marker, have you ever put clear powder paint over it and baked it?
