    four flat side grub

Yes you have a great idea there. I thought another one coming in from the other side would make it 2x's as strong.
  2. You're right not cheap but beautiful. I am amazed they can make it that thin!
  3. Smalljaw is it possible to Powder Paint them?

Agree Bob, ugly and effective. Could also have an additional keeper on the other side to double your fun.
  5. Very interesting, I like it. Your prototypes all provide enough material to firmly attach a hook. They also have different type twin tails that supply lively action of varying amounts. Just had a thought, how easy would it be to make a much larger flat or angled head? A larger head (2x) that is flat or angled on the front would push alot more water and cause a turbulence that would in turn cause the tail to have a crazy action!
  6. Try these guys for a variety of Abalone Veneer, suitable for fishing lures. http://orders.mopsupplies.com/c/171954/1/shell-sheets-shell-veneer-with-and-without-backing.html
  7. I haven't tried Galaxy, but I have used WTP. They have a large selection of foils and eyes as well. http://www.wtp-inc.com/color-card/
  8. I agree Archer, breaker @ house would trip before unit would shut down. Definitely defective temp circuit on unit.

Great foiling and paint. Is it hard to get them to glide?
  10. Yep you can't beat the asymmetrical pupils.
  11. What kind did you get?
  12. Do swivels transfer any water to powder paint? If no water is transferred to the PP this is the most efficient way to do this.
  13. Solved less demand more supply!
  14. An interesting article. Pulsed Infrared Light can be used to cure PP on low melt thermoplastics. https://honeywell.com/sites/aero-kcp/SiteCollectionDocuments/CuringPowderPaintLowMeltTemperatureThermoplasticsTechSummary.pdf
  15. Sudd, I haven't painted a crankbait but LPO sells a spray gun for PP. I understand the industry is starting to paint wood with PP. You may want to call someone in the PP business and get their recommendations.

  17. Would this work? For the price (11cent ea) I couldn't resist throwing it out there. http://www.ebay.com/itm/302335747751?var=601171731927
  18. Thanks Bob, it's fun when the light bulbs start going off!
  19. I'm with you, at my age (66) the only way I would cycle is in my mind or power-assist. The up side for you is enjoying the view and getting plenty of fresh air.
  20. Raghubir nice work. It's great when a plan comes together. You are a very talented. Post some of your lures in the Gallery when they are finished.
  21. Apdriver... how about the following to achieve color matching? Pull up this picture on a laptop or a tablet. Next put a protective shield of clear window glass or plastic over the laptop or tablet screen . Mix some lime with plastic. Put some of the mixture on the shield and compare the color to the picture on the screen. Continue the process until you are happy with the color. Note: the process will benefit from natural lighting (diffused or no glare).
  22. Judging from the cycling attire. I'm guessing that cycling was one of the tools used to achieve the sleeker new lure builder. If my hunch is correct how far and often is this tool needed for best results?
  23. I'm with Mark, not sure how big is big. Lisa & Ed's eyes should have you covered. http://lisaandedseyes.ipage.com 3D Lure Eyes: 2mm (5/64) to 15mm (19/32) 3D Animal Eyes: 4.5mm (3/16) to 30mm (1-3/16) Listed as animal eyes, but are used on lures and flies.
