  1. I agree Bob especially on the frogs. I feel like it makes the fish target the body of the frog because it is usually a lighter or brighter color. Dunno if that holds any truth or not but I believe it haha! It also looks good on a few creature baits I make that have larger bodies. Straight worms are easy as well. You can pour up a bunch of bellies in no time, just make sure to only pour what you will make that day. If you let the bellies sit for a while they will get oily and not make a good connection when you shoot the other half. Either that or you have to clean each one before you shoot and that is way to big of a pain in the rectum.
  2. I soak my baits in scent so I don't have to use anything to keep the baits from sticking and packaging is fine because the baits are slick with the scent. I don't even add salt to the plastisol.
  3. I just hand pour one side of the mold and then shoot the other color. It is pretty quick. Some molds it won't work with because of small appendages unless you are ok with just the body being two tone and the rest of the bait being one color.
  4. Maybe it is just me but just putting the salt in the bag is a waste of money and time. It isn't serving a purpose so why do it in the first place? It may "catch the eye" of an uneducated angler but as soon as the bait hits the water it is gone so it doesn't help the effectiveness of the bait. Me personally, I just feel like you could be using that time and money on other things. Just my $.02
  5. I like the BTS 3.5 or 5" swim rippers. To get more action outta the little one just rig it upside down with the paddle facing up. It is night and day. The big one has great action no matter how you rig it.
  6. BTS Molds. That bait is a mainstay in my tackle box and I can promise you the BTS hog catches the living crap outta the bass. I'm sure all the others do too, but having dealt with a customer service issue with BTS they have a customer for life. A second to none company.
  7. Yeah that is true craftsmanship there! I always kinda chuckle when people get all worked up over a bait I "made" haha. I'm like "All I did was take something in and out of the micro a few times and stir and then Turkey baster it into a mold I bought". Pretty much a trained monkey could do what I do!
  8. Well I am not in any way an expert or high production but I do sell some baits and make quite a few for myself and my partner. I just like t o be able to make a "pack" of baits at a time. For example I have five single cavity frog molds, two 4 cavity frog molds. Some I haven't been able to get there yet, only have 2 4 cavity brush hog molds and I can only make 2 ribbontail worms at a time but it takes time to accumulate these things unles you are made of money haha. And definitely only get molds you are really gonna throw. No need in having a $100 mold sitting around collecting dust. But I certainly enjoy not having to buy any soft plastics anymore! Also, I do have two injectors and that has made life much easier.
  9. Holy crap you guys are excellent craftsmen. I could never do anything like that. Wonderful work! P
  10. I just use black and small gold flake and it looks just fine to me. The fish certainly don't seem to care.
  11. Jesus that's a lot of money! And that's not even including one mold. It just seems awfully high but I have no idea what the high end systems of any kind run.
  12. I was moderately successful recreating their blue craw color by adding 16 drops X2 green pkn green colorant 1 drop of x2 colorant black/blue flake to taste and some blue highlight. It isn't exact but it's close and I have caught plenty of fish on it. Sorry forgot to add that was per 8oz of plastic.
  13. Some molds or certain applications where I have to inject harder I like the screws because there is no way to blow the mold out. I like the option to use the mold either way.
  14. Seems like way too much work to me haha. When I first started making lures I loved the idea of being able to make any crazy color I wanted but I find myself mostly making black, green pumpkin, watermelon, and white. I have a few odd colors that work (blue craw, grn pkn magic) that I make frequently but I have mostly just stuck to the basics. Not what I anticipated when I first started this addiction.
  15. I love my hand pour aluminum molds from Del even if they have the worst customer service in the industry. I have the 6" trick worm mold and the medium and large craw chunk molds and I love them. Makes a MUCH better looking bait than the lurecraft molds. Dunno if the bass can tell but they really look a ton better than the silicone hand pour molds I have used.
  16. Enforcer frog molds are great. I am so glad I purchased it first. Exactly what I was looking for in a frog. But I personally don't like paddle foot style frogs I like the purr vs the plop plop if that makes sense.
  17. 4 cavity injection mold. Only shot a few times. Just trying to get rid of a cpl molds to double up one the molds I use the most.
  18. I really looked at that bait from AI, just decided to go with something else. That was my main problem with the biffle bug is not being solid caused it to realy tear easily rendering the bait useless. Other than that I loved the action and versatility.
  19. Clear your pm's out Monte. Or just send me one with what ur asking for the mold. Thanks. Clear your pm's out Monte. Or just send me one with what ur asking for the mold. Thanks.
  20. Thank you sir! Exactly what I needed!
  21. I just use green pumkin with large black flake and small gold flake. Looks good to me amd the fish certainly love it.
  22. I was wondering if anyone had one of these molds and would be willing to sell me a couple just to look at. Just wanna see how they compare to the actual Rage Craw size wise. Pics with the two next to each other would suffice as well. Thanks in advance guys.
  23. Man that just plain sucks. I have a friend that is way too careless when he is making lures. It really worries me but I think with each of these stories I pass along he is getting the picture. Even with all the proper precautions you can still get hurt, this stuff is very dangerous.
  24. Yes he is still in business, actually he just turned to it full time.
