  1. I would just use the dual injector.
  2. Huh? If I don't get mine to at least 350 it ends up having a "cloudy" or faded look to it. Maybe I'm not stirring well enough or something because if I only heat to 330 I do not like the results I get.
  3. Bass Tackle has one almost identical and also offer a laminate plate to go with it.
  4. I have the Dels 6.25 diamond tail open pour. It's aluminum. I really really like the mold.
  5. One thing that helped me was to slow down the heating process. The more slowly I heat the plastic the less micro bubbles I get. Also some batches of plastic seem to be worse than others. I use the Essential series plastisol and my last batch bubbled up bad but the one before and the one I'm on now I havent had near the problems. You can also take a spoon and scoop some of the bubbles off re too of your plastic.
  6. Are these open pour baits (one piece molds) or top pour molds (two piece molds)??
  7. You can order them fairly cheaply from Do-It. It would probably be easier to do it that way. Or clear bags.com has them but I think you have to order them by the 100.
  8. Enforcer certainly has faster customer response than anyone I have dealt with. If you contact him he WILL get back to you very quickly and his molds are very well designed. There is a tad bit of flashing on the vents but the end result is filled bait cavities and they are basically impossible to get a dented bait. I have 8 of his molds and will be adding more soon!
  9. Why would you ever wanna add actual motor oil (or any unscented oil based product) to a lure? I don't understand why you couldn't just use a regular colorant made for that purpose to get the color you are looking for.
  10. I will be ordering the 3" swimmer in the next few weeks, I can certainly let ya know how it works. It its like other enforcer molds it Wil be a fantastic bait!
  11. Molds with thin appendages like that are just not made to be used with a laminate plate even though companies sell the crap out of them. You would have much better success with a twin injector and a blending block. Way faster and you don't end up wasting a ton of re making baits that aren't fully formed.
  12. So does Enforcer Bait Molds. Well It may be more of a nymph but it is a little buggy looking bait and I'm sure the bass wouldn't mind either bait.
  13. Yeah you can cure them for a year but if they are bent in the package it won't make a bit of difference. Bagging baits properly is the biggest pain out of the whole lure making process IMO!
  14. If it is the jerk bait version it's not made to swim. It's just made to be twitched and then let it sink. The one with the paddle tail is the swimming version.
  15. I just purchased some stickers from a local sign shop and stick those on the bag. I write in the name of the bait and the color in some blank boxes on the sticker. It has logo and contact info as well. It was pretty cost effective.
  16. The ones that I always used to use just had black twine instead of mono. It wasn't really a leader but just a little loop that came out of the front. They were a small 3-4" centipede style worm. Boy did they catch fish!
  17. I was thinking about these baits yesterday and was wondering if any of you guys make them and if so how in the world to go about it? I figured a mold like the Do-It Freedom Fry open pour could be a good candidate for this but I just don't have a clue how you'd get the hooks/leader to stay in place while pouring?? Thanks in advance guys.
  18. I got mine from Barlows. I got some heavy duty ones for making big inline spinners. I have caught some nice bass on them with heavy rods using braid and they have held up just fine.
  19. I bought them in the last year but they were used (from two different sellers) so I have no idea how old they are. The fact that the molds are not the same size leads me to believe they were made at significantly different times. I have other molds that are MUCH thicker bodied baits and therefore should have more of a problem with denting and I almost can't make them screw up but those stick molds are just a pain in my anus haha! I do use the HDA instead of salt, don't know if that would make a difference or not??
  20. One thing I have found is that it's easier to keep the baits from becoming bent by just putting them in a zip lock bag from the grocery store. The actual worm bags you can buy are very stiff and if the baits get the least bit out of line in the bag things like claws and tails will get bent and kinked up. I put all my baits for personal use in snack bags, sandwich bags, or quart bags. They also take up waaaaay less room in a tackle box/bag. May not be the best for selling baits but most of my customers don't care.
  21. I think Enforcer molds just came out with one.
  22. I have 2 of the 4" stick molds from Bass Tackle. They are the most problematic molds I have. Obviously it's just me if everyone else doesn't have problems. I just can't seem to get 4 nice baits ever. Always one or more that dent or not shaped right. But as I said, it must just be me.
  23. I do, they are GREAT!! Best action and finally somebody makes one that isn't a paddle foot.
  24. Well one of the only things I like better than fishing and making baits is ME! And I like me the way I am and I wanna keep me that way haha! I just want to make sure I stress saftey because I feel like it is by far the most important of doing this. You can get severely hurt doing this stuff and I have seen way too many videos of people (even unsupervised children) melting plastic with no saftey gear.
  25. Softener, heat stabilizer, thermometer (both infrared and probe style), GLOVES, GLOVES, GLOVES, mask, eye wear, long pants, long sleeves, apron, and did I mention gloves?
