    Awesome paint job!!!
  2. Hi guys, Does anyone use Com-Art paint? I found a supplier in South Africa that can bring it in. Otherwise I have been using the Daler Rowney artists ink, not too bad. I have also ordered the Testors Aztek paints from Dinger Baits, just waiting for SA customs to allow it to be shipped into SA........can't wait to use them, the colours look great!!!! Anyone have any ideas on the best way to get paint from the USA into other countries? Has anyone done this before? Regards, Garreth
  3. My buddies were nailing the smaliies with this one I painted for them

    Little Johns

My buddy and I fished a local comp and the bottom LJ MD I painted caught most of our fish over that weekend, we ended 3rd in the comp. Was a great feeling doing well with my own custom crank.

And I'm sure he was pretty stoked with the outcome, good job.
  9. Mine looks like a bomb went off inside. Its an absolute mess! Although it is an organised mess and I know exactly where everything is, will post a pic soon
  10. So as I understand it. You make a "solid" bait by filling the jointed sections with putty, rubber bands or even silicone. Then apply epoxy topcoat as normal?
  11. This is awesome, great job!!!
  12. Thanks guys, BL, I will give that a try when I am home again and will let you know the results
  13. This looks like an awesome bait! Great job!!!
  14. Hey thanks bro. I did think of getting a heat lamp, what kind would be best? A fan type or a bar heater? I never got round to getting one as it was spring time down our side and spawn so I spent more days fishing than painting, which isn't a bad thing either I was home for 60 days and spent 28 of those on the water . I will definitely get a heater when I am home though.....thanks for the comments

    Clanwillaim Redfin

This is my version of one of the indigenous fish to the Western Cape where I'm from in South Africa, its called the Clanwilliam Redfin. I caught few smallies with it
  16. This one came out the best. I got the epoxy coating just perfect. Almost looks like a factory bait. I havent managed to get the epoxy as good as this on my others........ I think the weather has a lot to do with it, cold days the epoxy just doesn't cure like I want it to...
  17. The top 2 baits are a copy of the bottom Spro Fat Poppa blue gill. My friend asked me to paint him the top 2 baits to match the bottom pattern, I think they came out pretty good. I painted 2 original Spros with white base coat and went from there........

Thanks Mike, I am home from offshore in 3 days, expect to see some new cranks soon!!!
  20. I honestly just used an old coffee tin and stabbed holes in it with a screwdriver. It works great! Used a blow torch to heat up the sheets, vacuum on and boom! Perfect stencils.......
