You tell her that's a great fish!! We fish for bigger species, but when they don't cooperate. Its a blast to take a ultralight and 2lbs test after them. I really like seeing kids enjoying the outdoors, instead of seating on a couch playing a game. They will be better off for it in many ways! Joelhains, I am looking hard at basstackle molds. Thanks, Dale

Usually I just post a "like" to show I have read your post but..... So, Frank I have already started watching your videos. Thanks Monte, the 2" baits are killers for white bass that I fish for in the spring. I've tried 3" and don't get as many strikes. Wish I could have hand poured, but it is what it is. So that's where I learnt something that I would not have found out normally. Can't hand pour that size or probably any style smaller in size than a 3". Thanks all, Dale

Meatball, I was just on soft baits. I was searching for something but it showed nothing found. I thought that was odd so I put in plastic(s). It still did not show anything. TU is still probably working on the search engine. Curt said that they are still working on somethings. This maybe one of them, hang on if it don't work. Dale

Curt as I'm getting use to the new site, I think y'all have done a great job!! Evidently y'all have looked at the user that uses phones and pads. With the use of media coming directly from a source makes it extremely convenient. Excellent, no matter what!! Dale

Monte, I'm thinking about a small size to start off with. My thinking is to start with around a 2". In time I want to make trailers of about 4-6" for bucktails. Gone2long, I appreciate your opinion on the plastics. I can't remember ever getting around the pouring of plastics so the smell I have no clue about It. It can't be worst then a deer or when I lived on a farm. As long as it don't hurt me. I'll search as you said. Travis I'll be getting with you. Thanks, Dale

This info is what I'm looking for. Because of jigs and other baits that I make, soft baits are becoming something that I'm looking at. I'm not a business yet but will be in the future I believe. I know what you mean Gone2long about brand names, but sometimes one product gives you a option that others do not. Being new I may not notice this compared to someone that uses the product on a regular bases. Driftwood I'm big on safety. Coming from around welding I get your drift about burning. Pun intended . Seriously I do appreciate your comment and have all that you stated about already. Got to go make some baits. Dale

I'm new to the idea of making my own soft baits. I have searched for what equipment that is needed for doing this here but could not find exactly what I was looking for. I will look on YouTube but there, you don't get multiple opinions. I was wondering what is needed to start with small grubs w/a swimtail not a twister. What brand(s) do you recommend for each piece/equipment. I would appreciate All respounces with personal opinions. Thanks, Dale

I'm sorry Curt I was referring to posting straight from a phone rather then using a second site to change the pic to a certain format or size. My apology

Curt what about the pic's while your here. Dale

JR, I switch from a phone to a pad. So far none are different buddy. I have not been on a computer but my pad normally looks like the computer version except for emoticons. We got them now for all. There are a few other things you have now that you didn't before. , cheers Dale P.S., I got to do better on proof reading......grrr

Curt, let's say I have a pic in a phone or pad and I want to post it in a forum for reference to a question. It appears that I don't need a secondary site to put it in a pixel size. Am I right about "insert media" button at the bottom of the window. This would be great! Im getting use to the site. At this point I like the changes so far. I understand the older platforms not behaving with a new one. This is just find to me. I'm sure somethings will change here and there. As Ben would state, Just my ....oh yeah Ben I can do this now from a pad. Lol...Take care, Dale

I agree, I don't think so either. I have tried it. If you don't care about distortion of the stencil as it forms, then your good. A few that I did came out different then I expected but looked good. Some times a mistake turns out great. The only way you find out for yourself, give it a go. Dale

Oh lordy I lost what friends I had. I'll find them again somewhere I guess. Seriously, I notice something I suggested, I believe. Also I believe it maybe a lot easier to post pic's now. I'll check it out tomorrow I got to go now tho. Dale

You can use a electric wire soldering iron with attachments and get some of the paint out. I would recommend to just work hard to not get the paint on the eye. I don't like the chance of a burr being at the line.

Where did that Mack Truck come from. It hit TU right in the software! Came home and sat down......booom, no TU. Now this. I just got use to the other look. LOL I'll get use to it! Dale

I'll throw this out there, but I'm not sure because of the picture angle. Do you think that in the gill plate area there is foil? Then a ink green color over a clear plastic to give it a ghost effect. I think I see shade changes through the bait that maybe background objects. Just a thought, Dale

You are right Bob. If you could look at the movements I did with the eye, it was mm's. I didn't state it in the last post but I even went to above the nose. This was my first wooden bait I did. It took me 1 completely destroyed bait and a couple more pretty drilled out baits to start to understand this. This year I may tinker with moving the tie even a little more just to see what it may do. I ran out of time last year. To be honest the bait does pretty good now, it may not be worth it. The bait looks like a sub going down at about a 40° angle and the tail out of the water, at rest. Funny looking as heck. But when the pull starts.... game is on. Dale

Is This A Good Airbrush? Also Got Q's On Molding.
SW Lures replied to hoffbossn's topic in Hard Baits
I use the same as Mark, very close to being exactly the same. I use it from air nailers to tires, so I ran a dedicated line for bait making. I have a Jet air grinder that I use some, which made me split the line. I brought the hard pipe just up to the leg of the work bench and I put in the last moisture trap and a regulator with a low pressure gauge with a large face that I can easily see. The increments are spaced out nicely because the gauge just goes up to 50 psi, I think. What?..... I never paint that high and my memory is shot. I normally around 10-20 psi except for primer. Like Mark stated, it's not the compress size but the constant amount of pressure. Just want you to know paint doesn't like water or oil either. Later, Dale -
I differently should have remembered that one Robalo. Your are on point with that. I tinkered moving the tow out on the lip. I went to far out at first. Then put it on the nose, I still couldn't get the depth (20-30') and the action I wanted. I found that just under the nose to about 3/16" on the lip from the nose was the best. I settle with under the nose. I need to make me some more for spring stripers. Did pretty good last year. That reminded me I got to get pic for Jigginpig. Take Care, Dale

Epoxy V Cyanoacrylate For Screw Eyes (Place Your Bets )

Knowing where you get rod bond paste BobP, but is there anything that you can get from a walk in store (ie Home Depot) that is comparable? If not is Pro Paste close to what you use? There is times that I could use it. Thanks, Dale -

X2 BobP about the Revolution BR. We don't paint extreme details normally. For someone starting out this is a great brush and will be used for a long time as long as you take care of it. This brush for the cost is an excellent choice. Dale
