Thanks, the Senko Essential molds do work good. I have two. I sealed them with high temperature paint. We also catch a lot of fish on Enforcers 6" Ring Curly Tail worm.
I used epoxy thinned with denatured alcohol. The molds were shiny just be careful not to put it on too thick or it will fill in the detail of the bait - ridges, lines, etc......
I want to order glitter from Spike It. They have square cut, diagonal cut and string cut. Does anyone have a preference ? The fish probably won't care. Does one show up better than the other ?
I have the 4" Frog, which is his newer one. I have not fished it yet but it shoots nice and looks great (but pretty doesn't mean it will catch fish). The only difference I can see, other than the 1/2" shorter, is that the 4" one has front legs.
I'm new so I'm probably not doing it right but but I put them in water to cool after shooting them and then lay them flat on a sheet pan then bag with a little baby oil.
Enforcer molds has a 10" ribbontail. One cavity $40. Excellent quality. Ships every Monday morning to US. Great customer service. I have that mold and it shoots great.
Yeah, I figured I would have to wait a while. I guess you are busy when you produce a good product. My first choice for molds is definitely Enforce for the quality, price and customer service.
I have Baitjunky's medium and it works good for me. As far as mixing I understand what you mean. I added stainless nuts to my plastisol and colorants. The larger the container the larger the nuts. For the 2.5 gallon container I added a stainless 1/4" bolt (1" long) with two nuts. I bought them at Home Depot. You could also buy stainless steel balls on Amazon and get any size you need.
Thanks for the input. I just noticed that Enforcer has a 4.5" hog very similar to Bob's. I will stick with Enforcer Molds instead of Bob's though. If I order tonight or tomorrow he will ship out Monday morning and I will get it by Thursday.
I ordered the 702 Craw from Bob last Saturday and haven't even received a return phone call or email just to get a shipping date. I know every mold manufacturer is busy but a simple email would be nice.
Thanks again for the input
I'm looking at a few Hogs or "creatures" from Enforcer Molds but am having trouble deciding on the size. Any opinions on which you prefer 3" or 6". I'm considering either the 3" Hawg creature or 6" Hawg. Or any other Enforcer molds you recommend. I have his Ring tail worm, ribbon tail worms (3 sizes) and his frog mold.
I am also a beginner. My first plastic was Super Soft. I added hardener but realized that I was better off with Medium to start. The soft produces a nice bait but I think I will stick with Medium for what I want. My son, on the other hand, wants hard baits for his Striper fishing. I decided to buy 5 gallons from Baitjunkies and will get a mix of Medium and hard.
I would like to say that I have picked out one supplier for everything but that seems difficult right now - there are so many suppliers that each have their own positive attributes. I have found the molds from Enforcer to be real good with excellent customer service. I also ordered some Do it Essential molds which were good once I sealed them with high temp paint. I ordered a 702 craw from BTS on Sunday but am still awaiting a confirmation on the ship date. From what I have read in these forums I may be waiting a while for the confirmation.
As far as colorant is concerned I would stay with Spike it. I buy it in the 4 OZ size. They have a nice color assortment.
As far as Injectors are concerned I like Basstackle's injectors with the locking pin. The price was good and the quality is great.
