You probably know better than I do; But I think this is the sort of pic that would be better on the thread. There is nothing show - offy (I just made up a word) about this pic.
  2. I love the idea of dual cure resin. To the best of my knowledge most uv resins have a tack to them that can be washed off with some solvent. A few profess to cure bone dry. http://solarez.com/products/low-voc-dual-cure-polyester-resin/
  3. Any transducer will shoot through ice using this method.Ice is just water with a lower density. As far as aluminum boats go, I took a different approach entirely with mine. My transducer is mounted on a clip on aluminum flat. It just clips on over the gunwale. I clip it near the bow of my boat with a piece of swim noodle foam wedged on the outside hull to keep it vertical. If you mount it at the right height, it will clear the water when your boat is on plane! just unclip it before returning to shore. If you forget it just unclips and swings up on contact with an obstacle. Advantages: Insulated from engine noise. Lets you know about depth or fish about 14 ft sooner. Allows for a more sensitive setting.
  4. The amount of air I push through my compressor in a day wouldn't keep a mouse alive. But I still collect a fair amount in my trap. Even though I mostly use createx water borne paint, I am still glad to get rid of it.
  5. A quick search of forums turned these up. http://www.tackleund...de-decal-paper/ http://www.tackleund...-faux-finishes/
  6. Bob, I thought it was a dry heat out there in AZ? Eyecatcher, nowadays you can get a regulator with a filter attached that has a little bleeder valve at the bottom of the glass tube. Why not kill two birds with one stone? below is just one example. http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200625243_200625243?cm_mmc=Google-pla&utm_source=Google_PLA&utm_medium=Air%20Tools%20%2B%20Compressors%20%3E%20Air%20Compressor%20Piping%20Accessories&utm_campaign=RapidAir&utm_content=37579&gclid=Cj0KEQjwjK--BRCzv-Wyu4OTosEBEiQAgFp5OKJKC49fSJnDgka7-VzH7d2sJtvOoMN9tR7HMJFd6A8aAlUH8P8HAQ
  7. U R welcome. I bet those curly tails look amazing!
  8. You're welcome Pourboy. And here I thought I was coming out of left field.
  9. Thin epoxy applied to base of bristles, brush left standing bristles up, will set your bristles permanently.
  10. How about a 7" gitzit? Oh, Mark already mentioned it. Here is the link. http://www.canyon-plastics.com/Tora-Tube-Giant-Gitzits-Bass-Fishing-Tube-Baits-p/907.htm Here is another. Google images. you will find plenty. http://www.alltackle.com/abaco_squid_lures.htm
  11. There are some videos online about casting a mold using a frozen fish. You can't get more realistic than that.
  12. Or you can always make an airboat! Yahooooo!
  13. Some guys use small zip ties. Inelegant - maybe. But definitely fast.
  14. Have you tried this Canadian supplier? I don't know a thing about them - other than that they are in Canada. http://www.luremaking.com/catalogue/catalogue-index/catalogue-items/bright_stainless_steel_split_rin.htm Quick factoid: At least 90% of all Canadian suppliers are located in Canada.
  15. Yes, Mr. Hopkins. And that was a great Robert Deniro impression!
  16. Do you carve, sand, or burn the gill detail?
  17. Like Daves flexament? Otherwise known as E 6000 thinned with Weldwood rubber cement thinner?
  18. Sounds great! How about a link to a picture?
  19. I work it with the tip of an exacto knife, bend it, work a small drop of oil on it. Avoidance is the key. My joints are thru wired - I can't even begin to explain them to you.
  20. Then tell them the reason it broke in the first place was because of the nut holding the wheel.
  21. I don't want to say anything bad about any member, let alone the king of the Ozarks. I think his focus is on easily repeatable designs at a moderate price. I see a lot of stencil work, which is practical for that business model. There are also a lot of those baits out there. There are a lot of successful business models to imitate. There may not be room for another southwest airlines. Jason may not want to be the guy that partners with retailers and pumps out volume. He may not be equipped for that. He may have to or want to take a different approach. If Jason or anyone else only paints a few, maybe his focus is going to be on quality, origionality, or something else. If you are not interested in painting baits 24-7 or training others to paint for you, you have to take a different approach to pricing as well. My point is simply: If what you paint is better than the factory finish, $20 lure, don't feel bad charging $12 to $17 for a much superior paint job. It is nice to be king, but there can only be one. No disrespect is intended for Mr. Hughes. I do not have any of his baits. They are probably wonderful. Not everyone can do what he does. And he probably wouldn't want too many to try.
