Does anyone have any experience for color matching the orgional pre-rapela wiggle warts? Im needing some help with the belly of the the brown crawdad and the colors on the purple tiger..any help would be appreciated. Im using mostly createx paints..thanks

Ok whats bs? Can anyone post a link. I was thinking about switching to etex. I did not know there was a fume issue??

All the baits that this has happened to. Were usually painted within the last hour or so. I dont leave baits to sit out and clearcoat later. Even with them sitting for a hour or so i usually blow them off with a hair dryer just to make sure there is no dust or hair on them..anyway i have to order my devcon from amazon. No one around here carries it. So you never know how old it is! Been thinking about switching to envirotex. I hate not being able to clearcoat more than a couple baits in a batch.

Ok..ive probably coated over 200 baits in devcon. Never had a issue til i opened a set of new bottles. I cut the ends off of medical syringes. Mark the handles blue or red. Squirt 1 cc of each bottle into each syringe. Then gently push each into a medicine cup. I slow stir them for about 1 min..use long even strokes.i check the bait under a bright light to make sure there are no bubbles or missed spots. Then i put them on rotisserie. all is good right? Well until i check them them a couple hours later..they look like the have hail damage! Pits in the epoxy! Some of them even have a light white haze in them! Can some one give me some input?

Does anyone know of a decent supplier of blanks for crappie crankbaits..something like the strike king slab hamner. For some reason all of a sudden I have crappie fisherman beating me up for custom cranks

Well that would be the right thing to do wouldn't it? Well I have and this post is in no way a Crack a the supplier..I've had nothing but top notch baits and service from predator. I was just just mentioning the supplier to see if anyone had found a solution to that preticular issue!

Ok im.missing something...I've tried acetone and it clouds the bills up more for me..I bought a bunch of foiled baits that had the masking already on them from predator bass baits. when you take the masking off part of the bill has a haze to it..I've tried alot of cleaners even acetone..nothing clears it up..just fogs it up more..only way to make them clear is by coating with devcon but that looks like crap to me..they are still sitting unpainted

Also it's not gonna be a base or a main color..gonna be detail. So layering is not a option

Anyone have a createx recipe for green pumpkin. I have a guy wanting me to use that color and have no clue where to start. I can't even find a good picture of the color to work with..any help would be awesome!

All the ones I've seen on makenzie require a respirator..I'm not set up for that..I'm painting in my basement where my ch&a is located..cant flood my house fumes..

I have..but most all of the places don't have good color splotches of the colors.and I don't want to order a crap load of paint and hope I get 1 or 2 I can use

I paint holding the bait with hemo's. so as soon as I clear coat they stay on the hemo"s and I use clothes pins to hold the hemo's on the rotisserie bar..works good! You can get 10 hemos's on amazon for $10

I have a guy that's wanting me to paint wiggle warts with no base..kind of see through. That's kinda what's throwing me off. I've seen pictures of them done like that. Im lost on how to paint multiple thin layers and be able to keep it transparent..love the idea of using pvc! That will save me some blanks!

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me where I could I can get more natural color airbrush paints..I'm trying to paint the very drab greens and browns that are natural to real crawfish..the only ones that seem to be even close are the createx detail colors..like sepia, Moss green and burnt Siena..any help would be appreciated. Wouldn't they smear with clear coat of epoxy?

I have seen videos online of people with very small stencils with there name on it..they airbrush it on the back of the lure before the clear coat. Does anyone know where I can have a set made?
