  1. Thanks Ben. I will try re sizing in Paint again. I haven't messed with it in a while but will take a look at what you suggested.
  2. Thanks for the replies and help guys. The warning and explanation of the forum rule actually came off as very friendly. Regarding the uploads, I personally love looking at home made baits and other art, and know some others that feel the same. Just thought I would introduce myself and post some pics of what I have made. The only photo editing software on my computer is Paint, which is okay for some things, but re sizing photos changes the image size along with the file size. Any jpeg photo I have gets very small when reduced to under 2MB. There are free programs and websites out there to do it right, but I haven't messed around with it yet. For now I will just refrain from posting photos. This site will keep me plenty busy for a long time.
  3. My maximum allowable upload per photo in the gallery is 2 MB. Is this same limit in place for everyone, or just for new members?
  4. Thank You Jim. Much appreciated. I have been to this site many times, but never really noticed or thought about pictures in the discussion group. Whoops! I recognize others work from OGF on here also. For some reason, the gallery will not allow me to add any of the pics that I posted. Some of the talent on display here is just incredible. I could look at these custom creations all day. Lately, I have been building a lot of crankbaits. Working on more almost daily now. Glad to be a part of the group of builders and enthusiasts here. And no, I won't use the gorilla. HAHA! Just ran across that picture online many years ago and thought it was funny. Not sure why I never changed it.
  5. I tried uploading the same photos from my original post, but it's still giving me the error message. It's only letting me upload very small file sizes, and I'm not going to edit them all.
  6. All of my pictures are already in the jpeg format. This site must have a limited amount of bandwidth that new users are allowed to upload. It's the only thing that would make sense. Will try again later this weekend.
  7. Sorry about that. I have since tried to upload pictures to the hard bait gallery, but I'm getting this message Error You aren't permitted to upload this kind of file They are in jpeg format, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I will have to try again later when I have more time to mess with it.
  8. Ok Thanks Mark. Still trying to figure things out here.
  9. Hello everyone. After lurking for quite some time, I finally decided to set up an account here. My name is John and I have been building baits for 8 years or so. I began making casting/jigging spoons out of tubing and lead, and several years ago I got into making wood crankbaits. My main focus is on walleye and bass, but have also been getting into some musky baits over the past year. Looking forward to sharing ideas and opinions with all of you great builders. I have seen several of your works through other websites, and some of you might recognize my user name from elsewhere. Here are some examples of my work.
