  1. I'm actually doing this for my custom painted reel seats. So there might be scales or other types of background images that I would attempt to cut out. I can cut it out on vinyl ans apply it to the seat but I was thinking of something I could mold to a particular size reel seat for repeatability. Side note. Where does everyone get their stencil film from.?
  2. Oh ya sorry josh I guess i should have mentioned I would use a secondary piece of plastic or another sacrificial piece to lay over the cut stencil. maybe even heat it and then put it in a vacuum saver? I am just spitballing here.
  3. I was thinking of using my vinyl cutter to precut some scales on a piece of stencil plastic and then vacuum forming it after cutting. Has anyone tried it before?
  4. Thanks Dale im painting fishing reel seats. Automotive clear is working but im striving for better then that. The klasskote clear is maybe 6-9 months old and in 1/2 pint container and stored in my garage. Im using various solvent based automotive paints and epoxy primers as my basecoats.
  5. First Post and learning a lot from you tackle guys. I don't paint hardbaits but I do paint some small objects that see similar abuse. I was looking at options above and beyond typical 2k automotive clearcoat. I need to be able to spray the clear as film build is key for me. I had recently picked up some Klasskote clear and it sprays great but had a yellow hue to the hardener. Couple questions for you old dogs. Is epoxy clear truly that much harder then 2k automotive clear? Is there any brand of sprayable epoxy clear out there that doesn't yellow as fast? Thanks for any replies I truly appreciate it.
