  1. As Vodkaman said, we will need pics to help. The couple things to look at is body shape, bill size/shape, and tow point.
  2. That's awesome! Congrats Jaw Jacker!
  3. Since it is cold outside I will do the next batch in my barn. I will try the salsa lid or the bottom of a pop can. I might even use a cold pack to place the lid on to keep it colder to slow down the reaction.
  4. I use this one: California Air Tools 5510a https://www.californiaairtools.com/ultra-quiet-series-of-air-compressor-contractor-grade/1-0-hp-air-compressors/cat-5510a/
  5. I use a mason jar. The airbrush fits in it, I can seal it up and use the restorer multiple times.
  6. With the help of this site and many hours of research I took an idea and turned it to reality. I designed the body and bill, tested different weighting, and different materials for the body. I would like to add more designs but I want to get a little inventory with this model first. I have learned so much from this forum and continue to learn from it. I am happy the few times I have been able to add good content to posts. I still have a ton to learn about painting!
  7. Yes I am using the epoxy to install the bill not top coating baits. Thank you. I will try the suggestions of keeping it cool and spreading it out thin. I have some scrap pieces of aluminum I can put the mixed epoxy on.
  8. I am using BSI slow cure epoxy for installing bills in my crankbaits and would like to know if there is a way to slow the cure time so it has a longer pot life. Right now I can only get about 10 baits before I have to mix a new batch. So far I tried heat and that does make the epoxy thinner but only for a short time then it sets up faster. Would denatured alcohol help extend the pot life? Is there a different epoxy with a longer pot life that is 100% waterproof?
  9. Fusion 360 is what I would suggest. It is free for hobby use, tons of "how-to" youtube videos out there for it, and you can 3d print from it.
  10. I use D2T 30min epoxy for mine.
  11. So far I have only used Createx paints. They do need to be thinned. I use Createx 4012 and thin the paint to the consistency of milk. I am sure there are other brands of paint people are using successfully, I just have not tried them yet. If you are painting one bait at a time you will need to set the paint before moving on to the next step. I like to paint 4-8 at a time. Then by the time I get the last one painted the first lure is ready for the next color.

    Air Brush

I use the Royalmax that 21xdc recommended. I didn't want to take the chance learning with a more expensive airbrush. So far I am very happy with it.
  13. Thank you for all the replies. Bonepile - I am not ready for buyers just yet but I am trying to get a few locally. Cyber - I tried a silver/black and it did not look as good to me as these two colors did. I will try the gill slash in red next time. I might even put a throat patch on a couple too.
  14. I think you nailed it! They look great.
  15. What eye color do you prefer for this bait? I am torn between the red and yellow.
