  1. i watched most of their videos and learned many things. part of me likes the idea of coloring these molds prior to pouring with that powder so that i can pour in one go and still have satisfactory color gradient. what is the preferred method for adding eyes to soft plastic? i read a little about using some form of flexible CA glue. i am also excited to share how quickly with i moved along with the development of this bait. i made sketch last night and spend time modifying it to a specific form factor which i believe is one of two keys to this baits success. visualizing this project helped put me to sleep. earlier today i created the model for which i am currently letting the first half of the mold cure. i will head down stairs now and place some dowels and lube her up for the second half. i feel very confident i will have some baits poured tonight. i am not putting much consideration into color at this time unless this design provides some proof of concept. any feedback people what to provide about using the powders pre pour to achieve desired color? how do you two tone your soft plastics? i saw a video of dual injectors and feeding the mold at the same time, a little too advanced for me unless this bait proves to be successful.
  2. thank you for the quick turnaround good sir! video is opened in another tab and will watch it as soon as i hit send. i thought it may make more sense to pour the half with less mass first as the added thermal mass of second pour should promote more adhesion between the two laminates? i may even consider making my own syringe as i have access to a engine lathe. same me lots of money and occupy my mind. i will continue to sleep on this idea, i may make the bait shape tonight however. thank you!
  3. hello good sirs and possible misses! a good idea just crossed my mind and i want to run with it. are there any great videos or tutorials which address both of this topics someone can link me? the idea i have currently is to shape a piece of wood to make my unique baitfish profile. i was then thinking i may need to make the bottom part of the mold about 60% of the vertical depth i want. this mold would be poured till just shy of full and allowed to cool; do not want plastic to interfere with sealing the top of the mold. i would then place the second part of the mold which includes the remaining 40% of the bait and locate it with some pins and such and pour this with an injector syringe. i used plastic syringes about 20 years ago, are there better, similarly inexpensive options? i actually took my largest scar on my body from a pouring accident and only now am considering returning to this pastime. i will be adding lots of salt which is main part of the idea, i think i used to do about 35% by volume does this sound correct? i do not know how active this forum is so i will update this topic with any progress i make and include a postmortem of the experience. if i did a poor job describing my goals please let me know so that i can try to explain myself more clearly. any and feedback is appreciated. thank you for your time!
