  1. Hey Smalljaw...i have done a couple dozen so far. I bought a few of the different top coats colors and will be trying those soon. All of the ones i made vary slightly with different degrees of color on the top coat. For the most part though they look pretty similar. The base coat if very heavy powder so it didn't fluidize much but i figured it wouldn't hurt to leave it in the fluid bed. Most of the color separation happened in the curing stage in the oven. Seemed like the hotter spots in the oven yielded better results. I took the photo with my iphone then uploaded it to my Mac...
  2. First try at using the Boss powder paint line. This is the illusion series of powder...seems to work well in my fluid bed with both steps.
  3. That's great information Smalljaw...i really appreciate everyone taking the time to respond!! Obviously there is a lot more than i expected when i decided to start making my own tackle! It's a blast though and i see myself doing this for some time.. Jason
  4. Smalljaw do you heat your jigs initially with the toaster oven or do you use a heat gun? The website says not to use a heat gun, thats where i thought i made the mistake. Possible that the jigs did not get hot enough all throughout the jig for the paint to adhere properly.
  5. Hey guys i have a question about Boss powder paints....I purchased a few different colors for use on some jigs. I did a few test runs with the powder and found out that the paint chipped of the jigs very easily after a short time on the water. I used a heat gun for the initial application the baked in a toaster oven. I noticed on there web site after the fact that they recommend preheating the jigs in the toaster oven for 10 min at various temps.depending on the powder... then dipping them into the powder paint, and returning them to the toaster oven to finish. Does anyone have any feedback on best process for these powders? Thank you guys! Jason
  6. Matt at Barlows was quick to respond and im returning the order for a full refund. Thanks guys!
  7. Hey guys here is a picture of the blade. Its Premium Gold Willow Blade smooth Finish size 5.5
  8. Makes sense! My mistake...the blades were actually from Barlows. Kind of my Fault i bought 50 and all of them are sunken in slightly on the edge. I probably should try and return them to Barlows. Spent$66.00 on a Qty. of 50. If Small jaw is correct these are Worth spinner blades...Does not seem to be the quality you would expect from Worth.
  9. Good information smalljaw! Thank you...Yes the blades i bought where all the same size. I don't have calipers but looking at other spinnerbaits i have they are thinner. They are just not a smooth willow shape.. Will Worth sell smaller quantities than listed on their website? What i have read they are the best but i don't need so many as of yet!!
  10. Does Worth sell smaller quantities...i looked on their website and it looks they sell 500 min. Don't need quit that many!! Hahahah
  11. Hey guys...received an order from LPO last week. On the order i received some of there so called Premium blades. They were willow blades in size 4. I noticed that they were not even uniform in their shape. The teardrop shape had a slight dip in the center edge of them and they seemed rather thin for premium blades. I've been on most of the major sights shopping around but dont feel like buying a bunch to find the best quality and the best price. I'm open to suggestions on where to buy. I dont mind paying a little more for quality... Jason
  12. so they hold through the aluminum? i'm just trying to wrap my head around the placement...can you upload some pictures?
  13. so you actually put them inside the aluminum mold? i was thinking of just attaching them to the side of the mold...
  14. Will the magnets hold the hooks? i just thought of this...what are the hooks made of. I believe hooks are stainless steel..magnets don't work on stainless. I could be wrong...
