    Color

The pearl powders opens up a whole other world of options! So many vendors and colors, color shifts, it’s really crazy what’s out there

    Color

black, white, chartreuse, watermelon, non-bleed red, an orange variation. I wouldn't get too caught up on what you order first, if you are like most of us you will end up getting almost all of the colors available anyways!
  3. I saw it on facebook (I think chris jones from worlds worst fishing) said they weren't producing them right now. not sure if they will again, but for the time being it seems they are not
  4. I saw them on marling baits video, looked into them a bit. The molds look really good I just haven’t pulled the trigger yet.
  5. Need to clamp the mold a little tighter and mal sure there is nothing preventing the mold from closing all the way
  6. yeah I will get around to it at some point, I bought a 10oz from basstackle one of the times they have had them in stock in the last 6months or so, its great, at some point ill get an oring for the quality injector and use that too.
  7. I have a 12oz from quality injector, it’s not bad, I really like it. Unfortunately the O-rings it came with were garbage and weren’t useable after probably 10 uses, and I have not been able to find replacements (I think McMaster Carr sells them but not sure what size!) otherwise it’s a nice injector, not quality basstackle quality, but not far off
  8. I have looked for my phone, with the flashlight on my phone. I’m only 36...
  9. Yeah It’s not a terrible mold, I have since moved on to the fat guys fishing rip Shad and slim rip (both 3”) in top inject and am way happier than the es ripper. To each their own, I mostly do laminates in swimbaits (first the angling Ai hammer and little hammer, now added the rip shads) so the ripper isn’t in play any more!
  10. my complaint with the essentials series has nothing to do with the finish of the baits, at least the 2 I have simply don't shoot as well as any of the cnc molds I have. the 3" cnc ripper (single cavity which im not a fan of either!) is damn near impossible to get dents in, temp doesn't effect it too much,. shoot it slow, shoot it fast it comes out perfect. the es 3" ripper, I have played with that mold a ton, very tough for me to get a dent free run out of that mold.
  11. look at: angling ai, baitjunkys, fat guys fishing, bass tackle, enforcer, bts molds, do-it, all make good molds, some better than others but they all work great. I PERSONALLY stay away from the do-is essentials series (im sure if you look around you will see the pros and cons of these molds)
  12. fat guys makes some great molds, and they have a ton that aren't on their website, they have many that (so far) are only available through facebook
  13. They are similar, lots of tail kick, not a whole lot of body roll but it’s a small bait so I expected that (threw it on a 1/8th jig). Tail moves great on a very slow retrieve and doesn’t blow out fishing faster i just got the mold a few days ago and have 33° water right now, so I haven’t used it other that a short test session. It looks great and I’m sure it will catch fish though.
  14. No it’s on their Facebook only, so far. They have a ton of molds that haven’t made it to the website yet, but are available through Facebook.
  15. I ordered the regular (not “mini”) version of the rip Shad yesterday, I’m impressed with the first 2 molds I got from them (3” mini rip and 2.75” mayhem ned bug), took advantage of the Black Friday sale they have going at the moment and got the original, which is similar to the Doit ripper
  16. The white ones are the mini rip from fat guys, the green pumpkin/white is a 2.75” rage swimmer for size reference
  17. So, I recently got a 3” swimbait mold from fat guys fishing (they have a website but this mold isn’t on it yet, contact them through Facebook) and it’s killer, great action, shoots perfect and not too bad on price, 10 cavity top inject was 189. They also make this in a 2” version that comes in 10 cavity as well, not sure the price on the 2” though.
  18. It is possible to get a laminate with a dual injector on the 3” but it’s not laid out for it, I was never able to master it, I stick with the ai hammer and little hammer for laminates, as well as a top inject similar to the easy shiner from basstackle (forget the model # off hand), but they are all over 2”
  19. Yes the cnc will be shiny, the doit molds that aren’t are the ES series that are sand cast
  20. doit has a new 2" size in the cnc ripper, its not up on the store site yet, but i guess its available to order now (phone?) and its a 3 cavity. they also have a 2.5" cnc version (2 cavity) available too, ill be getting that one for sure. i have the 3" cnc ripper and it shoots great, very hard to not get a perfect pour in that one, the ES series is a different story, but the ripper has a great action, hoping that carries over to the smaller ones as well!
  21. in my experience none of the ripper molds make good laminates. i have heard (and seen i guess) that i can be done, but i was never able to do it, that 90* bend in the runner makes it difficult (though not impossible). i was looking at the ripshad from fat guys fishing, similar looking bait, and its an 8 cavity top inject, WAY more expensive thoug. i reached out for a couple samples a couple times and he said he would send some and never did, so i never went through with the order, but his molds look good!
  22. Can also try injecting faster, I have a mold with thin tails and it doesn’t fill the tails with my normal slow injection speed, inject fast and it fills perfectly
  23. This is great advice, I use the notes app on my phone, can put pics of the bait and a table with colorant info, glitter info, etc under the pic, works great!
  24. colors dont need to be mixed in cold, some prefer to do it cold, some prefer to do it hot. i mix my colors in hot so i know what they will look like, especially when experimenting with new colors or mixes of colors. if you have established recipes then mixing cold is ok, i still mix hot.
  25. I think that every colorant manufacturer makes non-bleed colorants. I know Lureworks, Lurecraft, do-it, mf, and deacon do for sure. They should say in the description for the colorants if they are bleed or not. (I didn’t see anything on Lurecraft on if they bleed or not, but it says if they are on Doit and Lureworks sites, and I think all deadon are non bleed)
