  1. i placed an order with lureworks on monday, also paid for 2-day shipping (its like $1.50 more, no big deal!) and wont get mine until saturday, while i would like my stuff earlier, i dont think that lureworks has anything to do with it after it leaves their facility. i think with the volume usps is dealing with this time of year there are some delays, it sucks, but not much can be done about it. this is only my 3rd order with lureworks, but the first 2 were perfect, got them in 2 days, no issues at all. dont let one bad experience with the post office sour you on a good company.
  2. check out the sparkle pearl from lureworks, gives a really cool effect. i made some 3" skinny carrots in straight sparkle pearl and they are really nice, semi-clear but with a nice sparkle to them (with no glitter), its gotten too cold here to pour outside so i wont get to experiment with it till spring (or i get a nice space heater!) but i think it will be an awesome color for the bottom of swimbaits, as well as adding colors to it to almost a sparkle highlight effect.
  3. i only had a 4oz single injector, and it was ok, but went with the 6oz twinjector, and im glad i did. i started with a couple molds, im up to 11 now (i think) and having the bigger injectors is nice, and i use the single 6oz when im only doing 1 color shoots, as the basstackle injectors are a decent bit better than the original injector i bought (the threaded nozzle one from lurecraft)
  4. Lureworks makes some good stuff too, I have used their colorants and glitter and have had no issues, the colorants are the best I have used (doit x2 is good too). I haven’t used lurecraft colorant but they make good glitter as well. i also have some mf colors and glitter and an orange from baitplastics, and those are good too.

    BTS Molds

i wanted a couple of BTS molds after starting this hobby in June. in July, i sent an inquiry through the "contact us" on their website, and he got back to me within the hour, stating that if i ordered the molds that he would get them out to me asap. so i went through with the order and about 4 days later got the shipping confirmation and the molds are great, i will definately do more business with BTS!
  6. Maybe it’s where I bought them from, but I separated over 3500 hooks into 100 packs and had 5 hooks that were bad.
  7. I tried a couple 50 packs of size 1’s a couple years ago, I think I had 10 or so that were unusable, as well as a bunch that were useable but twisted a little. I will say that they are sharp, and the price is good. Glad I bought a few thousand matzuos, they are going to be hard to replace for the price.
  8. MF has more than 3 colors in stock now, including red. not sure if the OP is still looking but its in stock now
  9. i agree with the above 2 posts, i have been doing this for about 3 months now, and it is NOT cheap. i didnt start to save money, just something fun to do, and the satisfaction of catching fish on something i made, and its a fun hobby. but its not cheap. also most starter kits are either expensive and have everything you would want, or cheap and have very little. i think its better to pick the equipment you want and make your own starting package.
  10. i just started pouring myself, about 2 months ago. started with doit essentials plastic, it stinks and bubbles, switched to baitjunkys from baitplastics and it has been great, no bubbles and smells a TON less, baits are fairly soft without softener, but i would buy a bit of softener, too. i bought my injector from lurecraft, the nozzle threads on, and its a nice injector, but if you are buying a dual injector to start, i would just buy the bass tackle, and use one of the injectors as a single if you arent making laminates. so far i have molds from doit, basstackle and BTS, and they are all compatible with my injector (and i assume the basstackle as well). i will say, be prepared to spend more than you think, i started with 2 molds (doit 3" cnc ripper and 3.5 ES ripper) and now have 6 (2 more from basstackle and 2 from BTS) and will likely be getting more in the near future, as well as a dual injector...its addicting!
  11. I got my gallon of baitjunkys medium yesterday, and got to pour a few baits this morning. I used the exact same heating process as the Doit essentials (30 sec, stir, 30 sec, stir, 30 sec, stir, 20 sec stir, took another 15 to get it to 350) and while the ES with this method came out yellowish and full of bubbles, the BJ plastic came out crystal clear and bubble free. Very impressed and excited to get to use this plastic! It also smells way better than the ES plastic.
  12. I ended up getting a gallon of baitjunkys, the shipping is a killer but the overall price was still pretty good. Hoping it doesn’t bubble as much, or turn yellow as easy as the doit essentials did (I did order some heat stabilizer as well)
  13. Ultra molds has the “twitchy minnow” in 3.25 or 3.75”, look like nice molds and pretty inexpensive too. I don’t have any experience with their molds but I will likely add one of these in the future

new to pouring. a couple 2" sticks. 2.5" bt 643 and 3" rippers
  15. I am new to the hobby as well, I started with the doit essentials. I am now looking for my next plastic, it’s super hard (for me) to keep the doit clear, always turns yellow even before it gets to 350. I heat for 30 seconds stir a little repeat till I get to 350, gets yellow all the time. Anyways, looking for my next plastic as well, I’m going to make a few calls tomorrow to get some samples and go from there. From what I have been reading M-F, baitjunkys and Lurecraft are all good, baitjunkys being the least expensive at $49 shipped. Not bad if it’s good stuff.
