  1. Thank you for your reply. You heat the cut out the lay the tape on the blade and cut it out? What is the silicone pad used for? Thank you.
  2. TU Member 16 Posted 6 minutes ago Tried gluing 2 3/8 together with crazy glue ,same proflle as mudbug. Put the spinning wire thru the weights to preserve the hole. Mine didn't hold ? What does LOP mean.
  3. had not thought of that, At the present time I have enough tape to open a store. Like to get rid of it. Don't like to knuckling under until I've tried several attempts to beat this.I take this personally haha
  4. Thank you for your reply, Its a good point, as it is there are no margins just the "top" part of the blade .If you look at the factory makes there are no margins. I've been sealing it with Flex Seal rubberized sealer. Very tuff, dries clear ,self leveling cheap. Only fault, dries over night. I'm going to try your way it may be better. thanks
  5. I'm trying to trace the pattern of a French Spinner blade , place the pattern on Holographic tape and apply . My problem is the raised position of the blade to be traced. Ive tried placing masking tape over the blade tracing the outline, then place the tape on the Holographic tape then cut the outline. The cut outs are good but not to my liking. Also tried placing the holographic tape on the blade and with a sharp razor cut the outline. I found it difficult to round the corners of the blade and keeping the razor in the proper grove. I know they sell them and they are cheap but colors are limited. I also like a good challenge. I'm opened to all suggestions. Thank you.
  6. thanks to all how took the time to reply!
  7. Thanks for your information. I'm sure you will be hearing from me again .
  8. Mudbug, the information you have written is very interesting and helpful. Bill
  9. Just when I think I'm getting my head wrapped around this information there is more to learn lol. Since you have been so generous with your time perhaps you can suggest a wire former. I've looked at them all. I've narrowed it down to the Worth, and the Jannsnetcraft wire former. I'm open to suggestions. I've have thought about the round nose pliers but being very picky about my work I'm wondering whether this would be the best option. I don't want to spend a lot of money, until I get into making spinners. I'll see if I want to continue. Thank you for your help Bill
  10. Hi JD, I'm glad you you posted the chart . Being a beginner I am confused about some of the information. Janns have the bodies listed , the ounces that are listed do not make sense to me . They are way less than the total weight I believe to make a spinner. For instance, body weight 73 is 1/14 oz. So that being so , would the blade and other add on come out to 1/3 oz? PS I have not made any spinners yet. Thank You
  11. For a 3/8 oz body what blade size do I need. I I live in a area where I can not find a Mepps with this size body. Thank you Bill
  12. thank both you for your information, I'm just an amature who likes to think side out of the box. Seeing that it's more complicated than I expected ,I'll pass on this project. regards Bill
  13. I would like to paint my own spinner blades. I understand nickle can be painted but preperation before painting is labor intensive. Is this true? thank you
  14. Thank you for your reply and agree with everything you said. The measurments and the supplies I mentioned will be ok for starters. I'm concerned abt.the wire size it's ok? Thanks again Bill
  15. I would like to make my own in line spinners, Bought a Panther Martin 3/8 oz spinner. Measured the sonic inline blade to be about 1 3/8 inches which would be a number 5 blade. From what I have gathered a .031 wire size is appropiate. I would appreciate any pointers or criticism .I intend to build the spinner with measurments above. thank you Bill PS adding appropiate bead size. thank you Bill
