  1. Glad to hear you found what you need. For the reference of anyone else who may stumble across this, I use a 1/16" drill bit for this and it works perfectly fine. I've made a couple hundred jigs like this without incident. With that said, there's a good chance I'll buy some of that Teflon rod and give it a shot. That's good stuff!
  2. And by the way, thank you for those jig tying videos! That's how I learned to tie the jigs I'm making now!
  3. smalljaw, that big river hook looks sweet. What line would you fish with it? I've been toying with thoughts of a small 1/8 oz jig that I could throw on 8 or 10 lb line into light cover and just haven't nailed down which hook. Alternatively, I've considered trying it with a #1 or 1/0 Owner Deep Throat Hook with a different mold that'll take the 60 degree eye.
  4. logwrig, I have been pouring and tying ultra finesse jigs using that weedless ballhead jig and it can totally be done. Like Cadman said, a drill bit works great for the weedguard hole. As much as I love the versatility of the weedless ballhead jig, I've been looking into getting a Snootie jig mold as well. While the ballhead is a great finesse profile and is rapidly becoming my Ned Rig alternative, I suspect the Snootie will do much better for pitching into cover and swimming through grass. Just my 2 cents.
  5. Thank you for the replies. The next mold I buy (probably a smaller banana jig or snootie jig mold), I think I'll give some of these hooks a try.
  6. Hello! First off, a big thank you to all the many contributors in this community. I've learned tons about tackle making just from reading through everyone's posts and comments! I am curious to know, has anyone here tried the Victory 11786BN hooks? They appear to be interchangeable with the popular Mustad 32786, only these from Victory are a sickle style hook. Would this hook work well for pitching into laydowns and brush piles? I have been building micro jigs with Victory's light wire aberdeen hooks and so far am impressed - they are very sharp right out of the package.
