  1. Alright, that's definitely a project here soon, I may even get real fancy and carve some gills or fins! I tried just carving little bits off with a fairly dull chisel, and it wasn't that bad at all, definitely wasn't like basswood or pine. The main challenge with it, I feel, is the gumminess and that it dulls your tools and the dust is bad for you. Definitely will post pictures in the gallery of what I come up with. I just don't know if I will do that sooner or later though.
  2. Dude, that must've been very hard to do, Lexan is very hard to carve as it is so hard.
  3. I am just making a wall mount out of it, and it is like 4"x3"x1.25"
  4. Yeah, I had planned on not painting it very much and leaving the gorgeous grain exposed. I know that dust ain't good for ya, it sticks in the nose pretty good. Doesn't smell as bad as super glue fumes though... Them fumes will kill any virus in your nose lol
  5. I now have some Honduras Rosewood in my possession, and let me tell ya'... It is HARD. I have worked with normal woods; balsa, basswood, pine, cedar, etc and this feels super heavy. I thought that hard maple was heavy, but this is so much heavier it ain't even funny lol. I looked at the specific gravity of this wood, and it is 1.03!! It sinks by itself, it is not buoyant! It is the prettiest wood grain I have ever seen, very dark but looks even better when it is wet/finished. So I got to thinking-- what kinds of baits would this wood be suitable for? If you're wondering, it has a very potent smell when you cut it or sand it.
  6. The blanks should be very similar to the original Vision 110, so the hooks should also be similar. This is all theory but it might work. On the real Megabass Vision 110s, they use Katsuage Out-Barb hooks, which are very light wire, very sharp, and very strong for the wire thickness. They sell them on TackleWarehouse, Megabass' site, and other places. A hook that is probably close is the Gamakatsu G-Finesse hooks, they are very sharp, very strong, and very very light.
  7. I respect you a lot for reading the rules! You can make a collage for the images on some platforms-- there are many out there.
  8. Carving is my deal; I know nothing about 3D printing haha
  9. Very nice! Definitely gonna watch that after the NFL Draft!
  10. Is that a lure or a sculpture? It's so artistic I can't tell! If it's a lure, what is it, a glider?
  11. Yep! That scroll saw has been sitting for the better part of 3 years, so it was a little stuck haha
  12. Hey man! Nice to meet you, bout time I see somebody else from Kansas on here haha. Tons of info here, ever need anything, let us know, and if we don't know, we'll try to help you however we can. Like Hillbilly voodoo said above, you are definitely going to see some great opinions and hot takes lol
  13. That means I finally have a use for a pair of vise grips like the ones you showed here! Very good advice man! Take a couple pieces of wood that are the same thickness as your work and clamp them together and then just go at it! Thanks
  14. Looks fantastic! Thin enough to give details texture yet thick enough to be durable! Is that blank a resin bait or is it a ABS blank and if so, which one? I may need to purchase a blank or two if they are ABS!
  15. Thanks man! That saw is just a newer version of mine, all the features are the same except the looks and the build of it.
  16. I have noticed that foot lock mechanism, and I was looking at it and the foot is attached to the arm with an Allen screw, so I tightened that thing down so that I could bend the fingers down slightly, and that mostly solved the issue of it not going down to the table. The other part that I need to do is grab a junk board of pine that I have, cut it down to size and clamp it to the table. That would give me an extra 3/4" of height to the table. The only other issue is the smaller 1"/3/4" pieces of pine that I have and use a lot is a little too small to fit in the fingers. I may have to bend the finger inward toward each other to solve that issue.
  17. I think that mine is an older model of the saw that you're showing, but I have looked at the features and designs and they are very similar, just slightly different in aesthetics and probably internally as well.
  18. Here ya go! Don't judge my paint station lol. My saw ain't staying there, I just have some very young (1-4) yr old siblings who could mess with it because I don't have a station for it yet where they can't get to it, so I put it at my paint station for now because my paint station is outside in my garage/shed.
  19. Here's the model: Ryobi SC164VS 16" Variable Speed Scroll Saw
  20. I will look at that, and if I can't adjust them, I have an attachment in mind to make it removable and simple to attach.
