Ive been tying this way ever since silicone skirting material was introduced to the public. I even tied the same skirts pattern in flat rubber when living rubber was still around. I still tie them in round rubber now. I still tie the conventional way also. I tie several different skirt patterns. I never use glue to secure the knot when I tie. I wrap and run thread through loop knot then three half hitch knots no slipping skirts the failure rate is 0 for me.1q

Cadman have you started tying the Lions Collar jigs yet. Im still amazed how fast you pick up tying the puffball jig . I cant wait to see you putting out the Loins Collar. -
When I powder coat jig heads i powder coat up to five colors on one jig head with one heat application. When when I hang the jigs in my gas ovens I have side by side big twin door ovens with fan built in so it evenly push the hot air around the jig head and it make the powder paint swirl over the heads. Every jig head has a different swirl pattern to the jigs head it you add more the one color dont just start the oven out at 350 to cure the jig heads. Start the oven out at 250 degrees for 15 minutes it starts curing the heads at a lower temp it starts setting up the powder paint. Then move the heat up to 350 degrees and it will give a very smooth shiney hard finish. I do this to all the baits I build. I dont have problem with with chipping bo matter what structure im fishing. Another few tips dont use a fluid bed to dip you jig heads. And dont use a small paint brush to add extra colors after your base coat. Ive been powder coating. for over 25 years now and never run into powder paint chipping after it cured right.

Hilts mold Make arkie head molds from 1/8oz to 3/4oz. You have to specify which molds you want. They make there mold with weed guard and without weed guards but on the molds without the guard it is cut down too the jig head but stops just before. That the ones I have i drill it out to insert small pins for 9 and 11 fiber weed guards. Ive hold the molds for going on 40 years now. The molds can be modified to hold a flat eye hook I use all light wire mustad black nickel hooks in my molds Download the catalog scroll down til you found the arkie head jigs They have a phone number leave a message they will return your call.

Another way to make blade jigs If you can get a Sparkie mold from doit molds and get the clip and 5/0 mustad spinner bait hooks you can make your own. There are videos on making your own blade baits on you tube. Just dont sell them you'll be fine.

Cadman name the jig Cadmans puffball jigs Custom hand crafted & hand tied jigs. There your custom builds and your alone. If Lions collars are your next jig go for it. There nobody out there that can copy what you can do. And Ive seen your ability in your work.

I went over to cadman website and download his catalog and was looking through the catalog I come across the puffball jigs to my surprise I seen some very good looking finesse jigs. A few months ago we corresponded back and forth about the jig as im the original creator of the puffball jig (1985) and he ask me if I would share how I made the jig. We started texting back and forth I started send pictures and step by step instructions on how to tie both the Round rubber and silicone puffball. And I think within a wek he was tying some of the best looking finesse jigs ive seen in this pattern. Cadman im now on the back side of my manufacturing days I still tie all my own jigs and lures. But I hope you carry this little lure on in your catalog and never change the name. And I'm hoping one day you'll start producing the Lions collar jig another finesse I started back in the mid 80s. I want to thank you for keep that jig alive. I'm hoping you get good reviews from your customers on the jig. I really like the different hooks you use and different style heads and your tying ability. And I hoping you start producing the Lions collar jig in the near future it's going to be another great addition to and already great jig lineup you carry. It make me proud thanks again Cadman

The old flat square living rubber depending on what skirt design you built and style of jig head and size of jig head would determined the rate of fall the jig would have. Today's round rubber is not much different tied in the same skirt design and style of jig heads.
