  1. Used everything from baking foil to HVAC foil. I prefer HVAC tape and it allows me to add some nice scales to it. Never had an issue with epoxy taking to it. You can check the hardbait gallery for some of my work. I’ve used various 2 part epoxies and KBS. No issues.

  3. It’s the “won’t be sorry” that has me curious enough to buy one. That good for $24? cup fed too. Dang!
  4. Not sure if posted but I go through nail files more than anything else. The kind women use on their nails. One set is 80 grit on both sides. One set is 120 one side/240 other side. I like using these over sand paper because the foam in between the grits gives it more structure, kinda like using a block, but with enough pressure curves to the bait. Kind of hard to explain but steal some from your girlfriend/wife and try it. I start with the 80 grit till I like the profile then hit it with a couple passes of the 120 before ending with the 240. Works really good on lathe baits too. Usually get a couple/few baits per file before throwing away.
  5. While I can get plenty of movement out of square style lips on a wake, there seems to be a point where if I make a wider body bait a coffin style is needed to get the action I want. More surface area to help push the bigger bait. ‘When I say coffin I guess you could call them all that but I’m talking more of a harder taper to the mouth than your standard square/coffin provides. Couple examples. The baby rat in natty wood needed a real wide lip to scoot but the typical 3 piece I make (lizard pic) moves fine on the more traditional square style lip.
  6. I like working with foil as I can get some really cool effects with it. Here’s some topwaters I did in various paint patterns.
