Hi I recently started pouring the do-it flat eye Arky (ARK-3-AFC) and they’re great but I feel like they snag up in rock easier than the same weight round head jigs I’ve been tying up from Boss (mini ball head). I can usually get them out but it takes extra effort babying it out the rock and if I’m fishing from shore it’s especially frustrating.
I mostly fish rocky points and chunky granite rock piles in Southern California reservoirs.
I’m considering getting the Do-it Weedless round jig with the same 60 degree flat eye hook I’ve been using to see if it fishes thru those situations better but am curious if anyone else has used that mold or has experienced what I’ve noticed?
I usually fish from my boat but really noticed this fishing the same lake two trips in a row from the bank, the first day I used a 1/2 oz Weedless skirted ball head jig all afternoon and never lost it catching several bass. (Pictured on top ) The next trip I went thru several arky jigs and snag interruptions eventually tying the round head back on and was way more efficient picking apart the areas I was fishing.
I should note that I’m using twin wire weedguards for both.
Thanks
John
