  1. I have been having this problem with my black and white Pro-Tec powder paint. I can't seem to keep it from having volcanos. Its not even rising it just shoots up out of the cup. I have tried brown paper bag, 20# copy paper, and now the tyrex or what ever from shipping envelopes. Nothing seems to work with those two colors. My orange, pink, purple, and green pumpkin all work perfect with the brown paper bag. I really need to get these colors working for me. I glued two of the tyrex shipping envelopes together last night and I am going to see if it works on my lunch break. Wish me luck!
  2. I really want to try the Alumi-uv, but can someone give me an idea about the coverage? I'm curious about how long a $30 4oz bottle would last? Approximately how many average size crankbaits (1.5/2.5) it would cover with a single coat? Some way to compare the cost verus 2-part epoxies. The stuff is expensive, and It seems like it would at minimum triple the cost per lure.
  3. Sorry guys, I've been a 'lurker' for quiet some time here, and low and behold, my first post is about one of the top repeated subjects. Sorry. At least I searched the forum for the subject with only one result that offered no information. Does anyone use, or have previously used "Klear Kote" for topcoating plastic lures? If so, how does it perform versus D2 and other topcoats? Drying time, durability, etc. I know that it's been used for years on various tables, clocks and such, and is known to be clear, hard, and scratch resistent. Economically priced at $86 shipped for 2 gallons (.33¢ / ounce). http://www.creativewholesale.com/ProductDetail/tabid/174/ProductID/1290/Default.aspx
  4. I have a problem. When I put coat on my lures it wont stick to the lure everywhere. I got so called (fisheyes). I think it has something to do with that they are not clean enough after the casting because of the release agent. I have cleaned the lures in my washing machine AND by hand before painting. I have primed the lures with two layers using Motip White base primer. It feels like they should be clean like a surgical hospital tool!!! What am I doing wrong?
