  1. I have obtained a Lot of fishing lures from my dad since he passed away, but the problem is that almost all the lures have no box or identification. I have 4 pictures but I might add more, any help be appreciated.
  2. I have no idea what I did wrong but this thing just wants to spend One direction or the other. I no longer know for sure how much weight I put in the bottom but it was somewhere between two and four size three split shots, I think. It sinks nose first but hangs tail down out of water. Not really hoping to fix this one but any kind of inside of what I may have done wrong would be great. I did try adjusting the line tie. 3. I bought this lure at a flea market without knowing what lure it was. I brought it to Canada and it was catching back to back fish and even broke my Pb pike twice in 45 minutes. But sadly the bill on the lure broke and I am unable to use it anymore. So if you can, please help me identify this lure if you recognize it. Thank you.
  4. What is the best dye to use when making soft plastics? I want something good but also cheap. What colors should I get for being in Northern California? Also what is the best glitter, also cheap?
  5. I’ve been looking on the internet for a while now and can’t seem to find many good starter kits. Anyone have any recommendations? I want one around 30$USD. Thanks in advance.
  6. I have a giant bottle of non-tarnish gold colored glitter but I don’t know if I can use it. Can I? Do I need a certain kind? Please help! Thanks in advance!
  7. What is the cheapest color/dye I could get that actually works. I’ve been looking for some for a while and I don’t know if I’m just not seeing a cheap one or if they are all the same price. Thanks in advance!
  8. Does this replace worm oil? It would save a few bucks if it did.
  9. I’ve been researching a lot about making my own baits and molds but I want help with everything from buying supplies to making molds to pouring baits. I know it’s asking for a lot but I can’t afford to waste money. If you want to talk more in depth email me: lucid.vax@gmail.com Thanks in Advance
  10. I’ve been doing research on making my own soft plastics and can’t seem to find if I need softener or not. I haven’t ordered anything yet so is there anything else I need besides plastisol, bait color, and maybe scents or glitter? If you would like to help me and just tell me if I need it or not and the ratios it would be greatly appreciated.
  11. Hey everyone, I recently bought a top injection mold from Basstackle and have been shooting with Bait Junkies, now Bait Plastics' hard formula. I cannot for the life of me get a bait to shoot without there being air bubbles at the top/head of the bait. It's infuriating! I haven't violently stirred the plastisol or sucked up any air while pulling plastisol into the injector, but it happens nearly every time I inject. The reason I know I'm not doing this is because I have another, side inject mold from a different company that shoot perfectly every time. I've tried purging the injector prior to shooting and that didn't work. Anyone have another idea on how to fix this issue? Is it the mold sprue that is the problem. I can't help but notice that the side injection mold that shoots perfectly has a wide sprue opening where it meets the body of the lure, whereas the Basstackle top inject mold has a very narrow sprue-body connection. Could air be getting trapped at that choke point and not be allowed to escape? Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time and help.
  12. Has anyone tried glued Bamboo wood for making Baits. I have applied standard wood bait principles (it was a topwater, lip less crank bait type), first I made my own rattle, then hollowed the inside fitted a wire frame for the hook and line connection then adding the rattle to the front of the bait for weight and wobbles. But after gluing and sealing it (I did not paint it), it kicked back and forth a little, with a kind of weak rattle. I don't what went wrong but I am guessing the 30 lb test was slightly stiff for it, how I came to this conclusion is that when I put thread (for sewing) it kicked a lot better. If anyone can give advice, I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Hey community, This week's formula will be a plastisol, I would recommend this recipe for light fresh water fishing, and less rugged underwater terrain. I would say to use dye normally on this recipe since it contains a dye solvent factor now as paraffin oil coating with fish oil. Please feel free to ask questions or point out typos. #5SMs stands for 5th numerical recipe, S for soft/not so durable, M - medium weight. -64% DINP Plastecizer -13% Emulsion PVC paste resin -2% Soybean oil epoxy -2% Paraffin oil with fish oil 1 to 1 ratio -2% Urea -5% Organtin stabalizer (tetramethyltin) -6% Nauguard -6% 6705 Plastic Softener (http://www.lurepartsonline.com/Online-Store/Plastic-and-Additives/Plastic-Softener.html) Thank you for reading this formula.
  14. Hey all, I just bought ten 3/4oz. Unpainted jig heads. And never thought about how I would (powder)paint them without melting or getting paint on the weed guards. I've heard wrapping tin foil around the weed guards has worked for people. was also curious how to go about baking the heads in oven for curing process after they are painted without affecting the weed guards. Is there a home remedy or will I need to order some kind of heat resistant tubing to put over the guards? Also I have 1/8" diameter FG30 weed guards on hand but the 3/4oz jig heads are bigger (not sure on diameter). Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
  15. Hey guys, new here. I am having problems with my lures not swimming straight and not having a nice wiggle. I have been doing a lot of testing and can't figure out if it is the shape of the bills, angle of bills, position of line tie etc. the type of bills that I use are circuit board from Jann's netcraft, and my lures are carved from poplar and I do not weight them. I have been making lures for about 3 years now and I'm starting to get into it where I want all my lures to perform great and can make them all the same but can't find the right lip angle, line tie position, and ballast placement, I can send pictures of the lures if needed, please help

  18. Ok I have been trying to make my own baits for a while and i finalyl got a few that work good finally. But i still have a problem that just keeps happening. The etex epoxy keeps covering my eyes that the hooks hang on and the line tie in my bait. then if i try to chisel etc it off it cranks sometimes and the bait kinda looks bad sometimes from it. I love the look the tex gives but really need some help on cpould be doing wrong. I have a spinner and everything. Could I be applying it to thick or? Maybe ishould let it sit some after mixing to let it thicken? any help would be appreciated. 21. I'm new here and tried to search for bleeding colors with know results. Hopefully someone can help me out. I pour crappie jigs and then use the VPI paint to color the tops of them. Works great on all colors but Pink and or Orange. Does anyone have any ideas? It doesn't matter if the jig is char or white, or even clear. Orange or pink sprayed on will result in bleeding after a few weeks. I have had this problem with the pink and orange when I use those colors in plastisol as well. They will bleed over to the lighter colors. There has to be away since there are so many plastic jigs and worms on the market thta have char and pink or ornage in combimation. ANt help would be apprciated. Thanks
