This may be the wrong place for this post but I did not see a topic here to cover lead pouring and I was asked to try posting it here because "those guys know everything about pouring" I was told I have been considering buying a lead melting pot and get some molds and start pouring my own lead heads. I use round and football head jigs with weed guards, as well as stand up style shaky heads in round and football with screw locks and thought why not pour my own if I can find the right molds. so my question is where can I find the right info on lead pouring, molds, and how too's? I'm hoping to get some input into what all I would need, What are some tips or tricks to get what i want, and if its worth the time and money to do your own has a small winter hobby. I am not looking to make these to sale. Just for me and maybe a friend or two. I have never seen it done and have no clue what all it will take to get started and then produce about 20-30 heads thank you!

I am looking for a flipping jig head with a horizontal line tie like below. The lead head appears to encapsulate the line tie, has a weight forward design and is a little wider than some jigs you find. I just want the jig head, no weedguard, unpainted, no skirt, with a Gamakatsu hook. 1/8" hole for weedguard is fine. 5/16oz and 1/2 oz are preferred weights with corresponding hook sizes 3/0 - 5/0 regular round bend Gamakatsu Hook. Where can I find this? I'd love to find a place or person who makes custom jig heads I can order in bulk but no luck so far. Don't want to pour my own heads, just want to paint, add weedguard and skirt.

Hello all, I want to pour my own jig heads using a 2-part pop mold? Has anyone ever done this? My mold is completely dry. I have seen videos on Youtube showing lead being poured into wood molds and I have read on here about silicone and possibly bondo, but nothing about Plaster. I use 2-part pop molds for pouring plastics and have no issues with flashing. Basically, on Christmas day I am going to try this, but I would like to know if any of you have tried this or know about this and what help/info you can provide me. There is enough safety info on this website that you can't miss it. So, the only question I would like to have answered is simply "can you use POP molds to pour lead jigs?" Thanks in advance for any help/info you can offer up and Happy Holidays!
