Hi All, I'm new to TU and was excited to find a place with so much information. I am attempting to design my first Lure (swimbait) and am about 2 weeks into it and have run into a little problem. I'm using a pinned joint system for a nice tight action but the problem I'm having is at join #1 (between the head and mid section) I'm getting a very hard impact at the edge of the joint. This is causing it to have almost a mechanical action not a smooth "s" shaped movement. The second joint moves great no joint impact and has a smooth flow through the water. I'm using a 3-2-2 proportion for the body and am stepping down in weight from the head to tail. Has this happened to anyone out there and if so what was the problem? I've attached some images for reference but they aren't able to show the exact problem, is there a place we can post short video clips? Thanks for hosting such a great site. Pete

Hey folks, Does anyone happen to know any custom CNC machinist that make custom soft plastic molds? I have a few ideas in mind regarding a custom design, but am having trouble locating someone that could work with me in the CAD and CNC realm. Any information you have would be greatly appreciated. -Southernmost

I airbrushed this Lure specifically for Lake Hartwell as I've heard they bite on blue back herring. I wanted to emulate a bait ball on this lure and specifically positioned each fishes midbody to fall on a joint to simulate all fish swimming on the lure. Its hard to see but the paint has a chrome-illusion effect, the more you tilit it towards the light the pearlized white dominates as you tilt it back away the colors of blue and gold and copper-yellow flash. I mounted actual 3d eyes to each fish. so theres a total of 6 eyes mounted on this lure. This was my first attempt at multiple fish on one lure. I'm excited to see if it will catch some nice Bass on it, maybe even a Striper!

Hello, looking for an swim bait injection mold that allows hand pouring of the belly and then hand injector shooting for the top portion of the body. The ones I have located appears to be set for twin injectors. I only pour for my self and a buddy so trying to keep the equipment down. Want a 4-5 inch version. Any recommendations?

Hey everyone, I'm working on my swimbaits and can't decide on which fish pattern I should do next. I've already done my rainbow trouts a couple times now and want to try something new and challenging. The fish I'm thinking of; Native Cutthroat Trout, Brook Trout, Yellow Perch, Largemouth Bass. I put a picture of my rainbow trout so you can see my style of painting. Also a picture of my new swimbait that is needing the paint job. I'm leaning towards painting a cutthroat trout but still like those other fish patterns. Let me know guys, thanks.

Hey everyone. I'm just starting making swimbaits. I've made 3 so far and working on 2 more. I have made all of them a one solid piece, meaning i don't split it in half to add my weights or screw eyes. What are the pros and cons in doing it this way. I see mainly everyone splitting their baits in half. I've attached some pics of the three baits i've made.
