Bountiful Waters
I was looking at the Hole in One Skirts on Bassdozer. How are these made? I like the fact that the colors are perm. seperated and the umbrella looks good.
reeves
They are a real good looking skirt. Not familiar with how they are made but having looked one over closely, I think it is done by machine. I believe Skirts Plus offers them. The down side to them is the small guys couldn't afford to stock the minimum probably required to purchase. Also, you would be restricted to what you put on your baits, no more mix and create with different colors like you can do with the tabs. If anyone knows just how they are put together, chime in here as I am just as curious as BW. Thanks!
clamboni
I made one just now....For the amount of time it took me, just tie them on tight against the jighead. You should get the exact same effect. All I did was put the skirt on an umbrella and cut away the excess. First one came out pretty good, but the next two tries didn't. reeves
One thing that I failed to mention in my post, they are completely a quick change skirt. That is a very important item to many fishermen. Sorry about the memory lapse!
clamboni
One thing that I failed to mention in my post, they are completely a quick change skirt. That is a very important item to many fishermen. Sorry about the memory lapse! I realized that, too, but the method I used takes too long and I think would have too many failures. The skirt came out pretty well I think though. I also don't know how well it would hold up to being changed.....Though if you glued it that may not be a problem. The skirt umbrellas vary so much, I don't know if you've used them or not, but it seems like some are a lot stronger than others and hold the round shape in the middle better. reeves
I have never used the umbrellas, so can't comment on them. As for the Hole in One, I have a handfull in the shop and I think I will sacrifice one and disect it and report back on my findings. Without doing this though, I think the collars are somehow laminated to the skirt material. I have never seen a staggered strand on one yet. Try to be back tomorrow with some news.
