jmik26
We make skirts but don't put them on Beavers. I usually stick them on sticks or tubes. A TU memeber Happy time pour makes what you are looking for. Here is a post on the bait...Jeff

earthworm77
Call me old fashioned but I think the split tail would look great with the skirt in place of the tail.
millsryno
http://www.handpouredworms.com/home.php?cat=108 We have the beavers in stock.
Smallie
Call me old fashioned but I think the split tail would look great with the skirt in place of the tail. A seller on eBay has them (330171494564) as does Bass Pro Shops.
Delw
we been putting skirts on baits for years, brushhogs worms beavers pretty much everything, to me it gives a little extra time to set the hook, what I've been told is that with a skirt on a bait the fish things something is alive in there mouth
maltrout
How exacty do you fuse the skirt onto the bait?
ChadK
I'm wondering how exactly you make the skirt.
jmik26
You can fuse the skirt with a soldering iron, candle, lighter, piece of copper beat flat and torch, and the list gos on. Basically anything flat that you can get hot. Skirts are injected. I tried for about 4 months and about 15 different ways to hand pour one, it was a lost cause. There is a guy on here that was able to make one from toothpicks which looked pretty good. I have always caught the biggest fish on jigs and skirted soft plastic. Bass Pro does sell a similar bait which is called the beaver bug, I was not a big fan of it in the water. I would have liked to see the skirt dance around a little. ChadK
looks great, but I still dont understand how the skirts are made.
Delw
Skirts really can't be poured they need to be injected. for example, what I do is buy yamamoto skirts then take a razor and cut them in half ( you get 2 out of one). the way I put them on is when I am pouring I have hot plastic so I dip the skirt in the hot plastic and then hold it on the freshly poured bait for a few seconds. ChadK
HMMM, interesting. i dont quite see how you'd cut in half. at the top they would be solid right, but at the bottom they'd be loose pcs right???? I didnt know they sold just skirts.
Delw
Yamamoto sells skirts they are what is called a double skirt. skirt then small solid part then skirt. looks like this kinda |-| you cut it in the middle of the solid part and you now have 2 skirts, this solid part will fuse, glue, attach to the bait you want to put it on. jmik26
That is the same way we sell our skirts. They can be cut in half to make two. See the pic below, you would cut through the round part and attach to bait of you choice. For the link I sent earlier about pouring a skirt. Imagine if you took some toothpics and glued them to a piece of glass in a star pattern. Once that is done pour some plastic in between the toothpics to get a skirt. But I would have to agree with Del, injection is the only way to get a clean detailed great action skirt.

bojon
I have put skirts on tubes almost from the start, always for my own use.I dip a tube then cut both ends, discard the nose(front)then cut the tails on each end.Easy to do.To attatch,to the front end of a tube, after the skirt is sliped on,I used a VERY small drop of super glue.Careful here it takes a very little, too much and you are setting yourself up with a mess. The tube for the cutting of the skirt would be dipped using a slightly larger rod.I never poured a beaver, but the principle should be the same.
