GVF
I thought I would give an update on the success of the clear coat. The small plugs were given 2 coats of D2T and sent down to 100' and no cracking:). the large plugs were given 10 coats of CSI clear coat and sent down to 50' and all survived. I sent one down to 80' and it blew the paint up.I must have had a bad spot on it. Since then I have started to make a few more of the large plugs and will coat them with D2T Thanks again to the members of this site. Palmetto Balsa
Glad to hear things are going better. When you build you new plugs remember to start from the bottom up. Shape, sand, add hardware, weight, seal, sand, seal, seal, paint with compatible paints, and clear coat.
