braveviper
Help....My lake is being drawndown and is down 4 feet. All the good fishing spots are now dry land.I focused on the deeper water with crankbaits and dropshotting but the fish seem to be "off" still.Do fish hold on the first cover they see as the water gets lower? reeves
Braveviper, My experience has been, that when the gates are open and they are pulling water from the lake, the bite is very tough. There are exceptions of course to this rule of thumb, but in general the bass get lockjaw during this period. A good thing to do is go fishing with your camera and photograph all those points and any stumps, logs, brushpiles, humps and the like for when the lake returns to pool level. You will then have a whole new set of hotspots and the bass will be waiting.
braveviper
The lay person would assume the fishing would be better having the fish more concentrated.
willie525
if your not fishing a tounaments i would troll with crankbaits to find fish then go back. cover water, i would use norman deep little N's trolled at 1.1 or 1.2 MPH.
