Tally
Could someone tell me how to get the reflective look on a spinnerbait head? Special paint? Special top coat or base coat? Aluminum base--translucent color, metalizer? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Tally
Gr8flyz
I'm not exactly sure what type of reflective finish you're referring to, but I just add glitter to an overcoat of Devcon 2 ton epoxy. I use Glick brand pearl glitter the most, but have also used other colors, and even mixed colors. I've done this over enamels, powder paint, acrylics & vinyl paint, all with great results. You do have to rotate whatever you coat, or the epoxy will sag. I use this method on not only spinnerbait heads, but also jig heads, spoons & spinner blades, fly heads and foam or cork popper bodies. Tally
Thanks Jim, but the reflective look I am talking about is like 24k gold or silver, only i would like to do it in a shade of green. I hope I have explained this a little better. Tally
Fat Ratz
Tally, probably the best way to achieve this is to use nickel plated heads and translucent paint. That should give you the effect you are trying to get. I have tried it and it works good. I have tried using silver paint as a base but the effect is no where near as good.
