Devcon in hook hangers

What do you guys use to remove the Devcon from your hook hangers when you don't catch it in time and it dries and hardens?

I have a tapered dremel file, many here just use a piece of wire in a dremel.

The important thing, as was determined on a recent thread regarding leaking baits in deep water, is not to stress the joint or the seal will be broken. The air in the bait will contract due to temperature and pressure and water will be drawn in and spoil the bait.

I don't worry about Devcon in the hangers, in fact I want some in there to insure complete waterproofness. Like Vodkaman says, I use a straight piece of ss wire chucked in my Dremel tool to zip the epoxy out of the hangers after everything has completely cured. Works pretty fast.

Thanks for the ideas. I don't worry about it unless it completely covers the hangers. I do keep an eye on it but sometimes I miss oen that gets sealed, just looking for the ebst way to rid myself of this.

1/16 drill bit in my drill.

I just use some masking tape and cover "most" of the hanger up, except for the portion where it enters the body. Once dry, an exacto knife takes care of the rest.

Personally, I just hold an appropriate sized piece of stainless steel wire in my vice grips & heat it up with a lighter. Rotate it a little & push it carefully through.
