northbassman
When you guys are talking about heating up the colors to dip then the clear to seal off the bait are you guys heating this plastic on a hot plate? And if so what temperature are you getting the plastic to so as the clear plastic wont discolor? And what are you heating the plastic in I have heard of the Arizona cans, do these go directly on the hot plate? Thank you.

bojon
Sorry, I was thinking along a complete other liie. Thanks for clearing that up. One thing is how would you maintain the plastic tempature?Seems to me that the large out side surface area of aluminum would cool down too fast. bigyen
I need to find a taller container than the 2 cup pyrex one I have been using to dip my paddeltails. This looks like a good idea but what about the safety factor? Seems to me that a can like this would be a bit tippy on a hot plate, or am I missing something here? longhorn
Most people on here don't use a hot plate to heat plastic. The methods vary from microwaves to injection machines. The hot plate is very hard to control and you are right....burning is almost a given. The microwave is very popular since it's available to most folks.
