spray adhesives

Recommended Posts

Gloomisman - I just tried the Elmers Spray Adhesive and it never dried under the baits. Did it Saturday and they still slide around today.

Longhorn - when I tried the double sided tape it reacted with the plastic and the plaster didn't form a crisp edge. Have you ever experienced that?

Here's a trick for the guys that make their plaster molds in metal pans. Use a small amount of bees wax. Just put the wax into the pan, put it on your hot plate to melt the wax, before the wax cools put your bait in, let everything cool. I use stuff called sticky wax, which is probably like the wax they use for hot glue guns. I know this stuff won't react with the plaster! To remove it from the pan after use, just put it back on the hot plate to melt the wax and pour it out, wipe with a paper towel, and your back to a clean pan.

Smallie, yes. I made my first what everybody calls POP mold yesterday. Only I used the "sticky wax" and investment. I own a jewelry manufacturing company so I have 100's of pounds of investment in the shop all the time. I put a bread loaf size pan on the hot plate and melted the wax, added wax until I had just enough to coat the bottom. I tried this with 2-stick type baits, 2-spade tail worms,a creature bait, and a 4" worm with curly tail. Everything stuck down good, but I should have waited longer before I pulled the baits out of the mold (only waited 1 1/2 hrs). Next time I'll have more patience, but I really want to see how it worked out.Oh and I did spray the whole inside of the pan/baits with silicone spray, the mold just poped right out of the pan.
