Spreckle
Do many of you guys mix scent into your soft plastics? If so which scents do you use?(Fish scent, garlic, etc.) and how much do you typically use per cup of plastic? I read somewhere that scent will act as a softener so I assume you back off the softener??? Thanks for the info!
BassnG3
I use Lurecraft scents (garlic and shad) and add about 20 drops per 1/4 cup. This is after I have added softener to my plastic.
Bountiful Waters
You can experiment all you want with this. Scent goes a lot further if you just put a few drops in the bag. I do mix scent of all varieties in my pours. I do not think you can go wrong within reason.
pastorshane
I agree with BW. I think the scent goes alot farther applied directly to the plastic. But it will do you little good if you don't keep your baits in laminate bags, they keep the scent in the bag. I use upper hand scents on most baits and lure craft anise on clear and really light baits.
GB GONE
I mix IN my plastic and ON my plastic. Scent that is ON your plastic will be gone in the water quickly while the scent cooked IN will hold for a longer time. The cooked IN scent will also cover the "plastic" smell of your baits!!! As always, I use Upper Hand Scents for Doug, a TU member!! http://www.gobassin.com/bassscents.html Jim PS Have not noticed any scent making my baits softer. I would use your current formula as drops of scent do not seem to impact the amount of softener needed.
pastorshane
Jim, how much o you mix with your plastic?
GB GONE
Not sure... just pour a little in. Probably a teaspoon or so... Sure makes them smell goooood and the fish eat the baits up!!!! Jim
