piddler Posted November 3, 2003 Report Share Posted November 3, 2003 how long do you wait before putting on the clear coat? i usually wait 24 hours before applying 2 ton Devcon. if the seal is broken anywhere, the Devcon will just peel off. this on plastic baits painted with Krylon. Skeeter Posted November 6, 2003 Report Share Posted November 6, 2003 I wait 24hrs. If you use lacquer then I would wait about 2 hrs. Water based, I would definitely wait 24 hrs. If your main coats of paint have been dried for 24 hrs. and then you just shoot your scales and back stripe thin, then you could do it sooner. But definitely any heavy coats of paint I would wait 24.
