kbkindle Posted November 17, 2007 Report Share Posted November 17, 2007 kb here i bought a rod from a rod builder and it is a spiral rod a 5' 6" pistolgrip st croix premier. i have used it and i do not like it at all. i have removed all the eyes and have bought a set for rod. i have replaced a few rod eyes before and know enough to get me in trouble but here is my question how much trouble will i get into with knowing where the backbone is or will it matter that much it is not the rod builders fault i half way new what i was getting into. but i just cant get it i want to hit the water with bait before i want to .if this makes sence thanks kb:whistle: Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Mattman Posted November 19, 2007 Report Share Posted November 19, 2007 First...you shouldn't have had to buy a new set of guides. You should have been able to reuse the original set. Second...the spine is irrelevant at this point unless you are completely redoing the handle as well. The handle is orientated to the spine as well as the guides.
