whitey
What materials you are guys using for the dipping tools? I bought a small copper sheet at Hobby Lobby and it works okay....but it is quite soft and bends very easy. Also gets hot quick too!
The Dutchman
Whitey, Go to Wal-Mart. In the silverware section you can buy table knives in a bundle of ten for a buck. Grind them to the shape you want.
rr316
Go to a local retailer besides Wally World.... you'll be happy and live longer:lol:
The Dutchman
rr316 I have probably lived longer than you will. Get a life! Your attitude is really not wanted. If you don't like Wal-Mart, keep it to yourself! Joe
LedHed
Swapmeets or flea markets are a good resource for used cutlery. Also you might want to check out your local Goodwill.....
Garneau Baits
What size eyes are you guys using for your baits and is Stamina the best place to get them?
tubinator
Lurecraft has the ones i use. they are 4mm. To find them go to their site and do a search for 3-D eyes. Some guys on TU are making their own. And by the way I agree with rr316!!!!!!!!!!BUY MADE IN AMERICA!!!!!STOP PAYING FOR THE COMMUNIST MILITARY MACHINE!!!!!! longhorn
Barlow's Tackle Shop has a good selection of eyes.
Garneau Baits
One more Question. Are you guys using the cheaper flat eyes or the 3-D Molded Lure Eyes?
longhorn
I use molded but I think a flat eye would work also. Let us see what you come up with.

GB GONE
Looks like the same company is making them for both! I sure am glad I made mine like I did as those companies cannot make them similar to my color schemes. PS The baby bass sure looks weird!!! bass4cache
The colors are pretty plain. Nothing too fancy but I'm sure there going to move a ton of 'em. You know it's the "Magic lure" for this year!
nova
Happytime, you could always make your own 3D eyes. www.novalures.com
Tubeman
Cool idea Nil ! I don't think that the injected knock offs will perform like the dipped knock offs Jim is right, the finished won't be anywhere near as detailed and I'll bet they can't do this with their product These are my " Ad Shads "
Garneau Baits
Tubeman what eyes do you use? flat eyes or the 3-D Molded Lure Eyes? Im thinking that you can use the flat ones. Dont you get a 3-D effect when you dip the clear plastic over the top of flat eyes? Nova do you just put a drop of plactic on top of the flat eyes? nova
They are silver holi foil painted with glass paint I got from Wallyworld; then a drop of thinned epoxy to form the dome. www.novalures.com
bass4cache
The flat eyes work just fine. Makes the head of the minnow a bit narrower without the 3d eyes.
Tubeman
We use 3D eyes, I like the fatter head.
skeeterfisher
The flat eyes work just fine. GB GONE
I have tried both the flat and 3-d eyes and I preferred the 3-d. The fish, however, didn't care either way. Anglers will though as they compare your bait to the others out there and all have the 3-D that I have seen. Jim
