They turn into highlighted pearl when more color is added....which makes great colors... but are there colors out there that highlight but don't turn into a highlighted pearl or am I just using too much? Super Hi Lites are usually ment to be used in very small quantities to get a hue or halo effect when used in conjuction with another colour....say like Pumpkinseed needs only a tiny bit Blue Super Hilite to get a nice effect. Transluesent colours like that will take less Hi light powder to get that effect. Opaque colours like Red Shad a (Strawberry 90% Black 10 % mixture) will require much more powder to get the full effect. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
nova Posted November 21, 2007 Report Share Posted November 21, 2007 I like highlights. I use between 1/32 and 1/8 tsp to 4oz plastic depending on the effect I'm after. I will also mix highlights together and sometimes lumina colors as well. It says smidgen, pinch and dash on them. They were around five bucks. The stainless is nice because static electricity doesn't build up like it does with plastic. bojon Posted November 21, 2007 Report Share Posted November 21, 2007 I use these a lot for my tubes.I use a whole bunch to make a pearl with a high light,and also add a small amount to 4 oz of clear plastic,about the amount of a kitchen match head,with glitter only.Makes a nice effective tube. But you have to start slow, depending on the effect your looking for. you can get too much in a hurry. But the powder goes a loooong way.
